Hello all, and welcome/thank you, new subscribers!

I imagine this could go without saying, but chasing a toddler while having ADHD (read: tons of rotating interests + constantly fluctuating motivation) is SOMETHING ELSE. I recently dropped a video I'd been working on to plow through a five-book series (Lockwood & Co-- very good stuff) and DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE I'd stopped editing until I was part way through the fifth book. A full month had passed! šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø So, that's a thing.

This is me saying I'll be back when I'm back. I have footage for three or four more videos waiting in the wings, but I'm officially letting the pace chill so I don't stress myself out doing something that was supposed to be for fun... or make myself feel guilty when I get lost in a great book.

I hope you'll stick around for the few and far between! This season is sweet, and I wouldn't want it any other way (though I suppose I AM a little surprised to only have room for one interest at a time, these days).

Hope everyone is doing well! Blessings all around,

šŸŖ¶Birdy

Good golly, my friends. This video is FINALLY out and, if you watched it, youā€™ll know it was a grueling one. Well, the curse has continued into publication. One lucky (or not so lucky?) person seems to have watched this video a day early (thank you, by the way) and might have wondered where the heck it went after that. The answer: copyright! Oops. I could tell I was going ham on the jokes and references this time, and assumed I had meme-d too close to the sun, so I went back to my editing software (Filmora, in case you were curious) to take out the bits that felt questionable. Only problemā€” I hadnā€™t actually looked to see what the claim was on, purely because I didnā€™t know how, or that it was even possible. (Is my ADHD showing?)

So I took out two items and heavily doctored a third, thinking only about animation studios coming for my head. But when I uploaded the new version, lo and behold, the copyright ID claim returned. And I realized I could have checked the whole time, oops, and that it wasnā€™t from the animations Iā€™d used at all, but from one of the songs. Fair enough. Confusing, though, since I only use music provided in my editing softwareā€¦ so now Iā€™m wondering if Filmora is shady or if the person who made the claim is being a weirdo (quick research says it could be both).

Ultimately, it barely matters if someone else wants to take the ad revenue from this video, seeing as how thereā€™s none to be had, lol. But stillā€¦. ugh

Amusingly, I also forgot to put any searchable tags in the description of the video, so itā€™s pretty much dead in the water. To the 19 of you who watched it, thank you. ā¤ļø And to the three of you who also liked it, thank you thank you! I hope youā€™ll forgive me, but Iā€™m going to take the opportunity to put my small ā€œnice catchā€ anime reference back in, replace the ā€œsurprised guyā€ meme with my original idea, and try to bring ā€œchipper-shredder for dollsā€ back from the brink of death. If you could find it in the goodness of your hearts to watch the video a second time when I reupload it later (probably tomorrow), I would be most grateful. Yes, it will be disappearing again. Yes, I know, I should probably just let it go. And no, youā€™re right, it probably wonā€™t make the video any better. I just want to preserve my original vision. (Ugh, is my OCD showing, too? šŸ˜…)

Thanks for sticking around. If you havenā€™t seen the video in question and have no clue whatā€™s going on, I hope this was at least mildly entertaining for you. After this, no more thinking about the Evette video! Itā€™s over! Sheā€™s gorgeous! Iā€™m moving on!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend~

Hellooooooo. Serious question. Since it takes me such a long time, I feel like my unboxing Evette video from the week after Christmas is SO outdated now. And since numerous others have opened her during the huge year-end sale... I'm wondering if it's even worth adding to the soup?

The only big redeeming quality of this video is that it comes with a holiday retail chaos story. So... poll time šŸ˜…

Happy New Year friends! Hope youā€™re all doing well ā¤ļø

As soon as I get back into the groove with editing, you can expect a story time and unboxing video featuring this beauty.

Wishing everyone the best first week of 2024!

Thank you all so much for making this happen! Your time is valuable and I am so honored that youā€™ve chosen to spend even a little bit of it with me šŸ§”šŸ©µšŸ’š

Iā€™d love to gun for 1,000 subscribers someday. Lord willing, Iā€™ll be coming into a season (soonish?) where I can devote a little more time and energy to making that happen! But even if we stay at this pace, I know weā€™ll be having a good time. šŸ˜Š Thank you again, and please excuse my impassioned use of emojis. Maybe not here but, like, in general. šŸ˜‚ Okay, bye!

Hey gang! Just wanted to pop in here and say a special THANK YOU and welcome to my new subscribers. I know going from 70 to 80 isnā€™t a lot for more established/consistent YouTubers, but it was a huge boost for my confidence and Iā€™m immensely grateful! Especially considering how slow I am šŸ˜…

These images are from the next video Iā€™m working on, from a trip to the Nashville AG storeā€¦ two and a half months ago. Ha! I promise, it will still be worth watching (I hope?), and it ends with adding my first *new* AG doll to the family since purchasing Kit with my own money way back in 2000. Momentous!

So, out of curiosity, do you purchase dolls directly from AG? Secondhand only? Both? I love getting secondhand dolls but there are several available right now that I want to get directly from the company so I can ā€œvote with my wallet,ā€ so to speak. Anyone else have a personal code about this? Iā€™d love to hear about it!

Oooh, what do we think of the new silver girl??? 10,000 are being made ($265). Personally, I'm just relieved it's not another IP collab. And her hair is intriguing!

After putting up my most recent video (the one about the culotte dress!), I realized I needed a different channel photo. Hope itā€™s not too jarring! I just couldnā€™t resist. Now it captures my return to AG much better! Hope everyone is doing well. ā¤ļøšŸŒ¼

Hello! I've been enjoying some summer family adventures lately. More videos are coming soon-ish, culminating in the purchase of my first NEW American Girl doll in over 20 years! After that, I'll be on a doll stuff buying ban, so I'd love to hear some thoughts on the kind of content you're all interested in. Here's a poll to get the wheels turning, but let me know in the comments if you've got any specific ideas. Thanks all!
