Stihl now uses one time use hardware in case and intake applications (left). Note the weight of a steel bolt, of the same size, in comparison. Yes ...don't get me started, but it's important to know because they may snap if reused. I'm struggling to see the advantage in a 4g saving per bolt. Across the 10 used on the saw, you save a whopping 40g about the weight of a carburettor kit... note their colour as future reference.

Customer dropped off an MS500i in bits for repair after being messed around by his local Stihl dealer. I'm getting it back together to do my own diagnostic testing. Never just replace parts... always, ALWAYS diagnose. You'll end up in the same place you did prior - damaged engine & and big repair bill..

This is the first Dolmar chainsaw I've ever worked on, what an amazing saw. So simple, so accessible! I saved the customer many hundreds of dollars by cleaning up the scored cylinder and you can too - learn the simple process here --> https://youtu.be/myPdvrwul6U

From a bunch of parts (many missing too) - springs, clips, washers, mixed in with other parts from totally different saws (also in bits) as well as a bunch of random mixed hardware non saw related, through to a fully rebuilt Stihl 084 saw with new OEM top end. Such an amazing feeling.

It's been a number of months since doing any tig welding, let alone ally. Felt really shaky, but found t joints (which I struggled with for months before) the easiest. Beads on plate was horrible 😂

If you don't know how to use a timing light, you should and it's easy! It's one of the most underrated tools a mechanic can own. It just saved me a lot of frustration and wasted time with the dual flywheel key way on the 084. This short video teaches you everything you need to know! Please hit the thumbs up, subscribe and leave a comment, it really helps the channel - thank you! https://youtu.be/57_Q7ItbP6g

What's your experience of aftermarket carb kits? I have had fantastic luck with ones from Ali express. Though I will say, I don't have ethanol fuel. They last well even in comercial use and are very affordable. It's hard to justify paying OEM prices when the aftermarket kits are this good. Let me know your experience below, especially if you run ethanol fuel.
