In this video, I wanted to show you my first striped bass landing for 2023. Here in the Boston, MA area, we have a new emergency striped bass slot limit of 28 inches to 31 inches. This fish was 31.5 inches. So I took my photo and then revived the fish and it was a safe catch and release!

In this week's video, I am surfing Hurricane Ian Swells. Hurricane Ian brought several days of surfing and this was one of the cleanest days. I am trying to connect the top turn earlier and learn reentry into the white water. Please share any friendly tips! Thanks for watching.

In my latest video, I am surfing Hurricane Earl Swells. My goal was to catch as many unbroken waves as possible and then try to do a few turns. The key was to position well at takeoff and then try to do a bottom turn and a top turn as soon as I popped up. Also, I have worked to build paddling endurance to fight through the whitewater to get to the lineup.

While kayak fishing, I caught this 33 inch striped bass on July 4th this summer! It was a keeper! I caught it with Pogy as bait and harvested the fish. We had a feast for the 4th of July!

I got a new Surfboard! It is a Black Rose Hard Carbon. This is a 9’4” longboard, with a 9 inch single fin. It has three stringers and is reinforced with Volan glassing in certain sections of the board, so it is very strong and has a little weight behind it. The board’s color is not painted on but it is resin colored blue top and bottom and black rails, so it looks really clean. It has 60/40 rails so it is very responsive.

Surfing Session 120: Here is my 16 month surfing progression update! I wanted to say thank you to Ombe Surf for their 12 week surfing training program. They provide online surfing instruction with surfing theory, as well as fun water and land based drills to work on. I am still working on a lot of concepts, but they have really helped improve my surfing at 16 months into my surfing progression.
