I know, I know. More update posts than videos lately. Don't worry, this is the last one for a long time, and I'll keep it brief.
I've been working on and off on this Sonic Movie 3 humor video for a while now, and... it's just not working out. The topic isn't nearly as interesting as I thought it'd be, and I just can't focus on it at all. I feel like it's holding me back, so I've decided to drop the project so I can move on to other videos. I sincerely apologize for promising this video and not delivering on it.
On that note, I have an announcement: I'm done making announcements. No more teasers, no more polls, and no more empty promises. From now on, I will make videos I actually care about, and discard the ones I don't-- which means YOU will get higher-quality videos. I will keep my creative struggles to myself, so you guys can just relax and enjoy the content. I said a while back that I wanted to take this channel in a different direction, and I think this is it. It's the best solution for everyone, and it's honestly what I should've been doing all along.
To compliment this new direction, I will also be discontinuing Channel Memberships. I don't want people paying a monthly sub to me if I can't even deliver monthly content. Thank you to everyone who's ever supported my channel in this way; I appreciate you all and I hope you'll continue to stick around! To send off this era, here's one last shout-out to all my current members:

I won't lie... YouTube pulling this 1984 baloney while I'm trying to resurrect this channel has been very discouraging. If you're not in the loop, Google has started using AI to "detect" underage users, and when it messes up (as AI tends to do), they're demanding people's government ID's to prove their age. I hope it's obvious how messed up this is. If not, there's plenty of resources elsewhere about the topic, so I won't dive into the particulars here.
I've been doing my best to participate in the small but dedicated "boycott" that's been going on; I have not engaged with any videos, streams, etc. on this website since yesterday. In a perfect world, I'd keep doing this until Google reverses this change, even if that never actually happens. Sadly, we do not live in a perfect world, and in this imperfect world... I'm a YouTuber.
I feel like I'm stuck. I'm trying to start a career doing what I do best. The only place I can do that is YouTube, but YouTube is owned by a company whose every move spits in the face of its userbase. But if I quit making videos, I'd be abandoning my community-- a community I care a lot about. So what do I do? The answer right now is... I don't really know. What I do know is 1) I don't want to deny my audience access to my content, and 2) I don't want to stop making videos, at least not anytime soon.
Because of that, I've decided to keep uploading on YouTube for now. I understand this will disappoint some people. It disappoints me too. I want to show more spine than this, but in such a hopeless position as a small creator, I don't really see another option. That said, I will HEAVILY reconsider if/when YouTube finds a way to make things even worse. One such scenario would be if MY channel gets flagged as a "minor" by their AI. I'm not sure how likely that is, but if it does happen, I'll be one step away from pulling the plug on this entire thing.
Rest assured-- if I ever delete this channel, I WILL make my videos available elsewhere. I'm already looking into YouTube alternatives. One is Patreon; I'd host my videos on a free tier, and provide additional paid tiers for those wanting to support me. Another option is to make my own website, though I'm not even remotely prepared for that. I've also looked into platforms like Rumble and Odysee, but I don't think they'd be a good environment for me nor my community. As for other websites, I'm open to suggestions.
In conclusion: Fuck Google.

New video this month! I probably said that last month and the month before, but I think I definitely might maybe mean it this time. I sure hope I do, because I really hate saying incorrect things unless they're about Sonic.
Writing on the script has finally begun, and I'm actually feeling pretty good about it. It's a departure from the topics y'all are used to, but rest assured; it's still gonna be a certified Spontman experience. So, if you're dying to hear me rip into childrens' media for no good reason... stay tuned. The wait is almost over.

Lately though, I've been feeling a lot better, so I don't really have an excuse anymore. Therefore... I'M SORRY!!!
