Who’s Slacking Off in My Office?
Hi, I’m Julie—so glad you’re here!
I started making origami jewelry in 2020, during a time when I was stuck at home and feeling creatively restless. What began as a small personal project slowly turned into a side hustle. In December 2021, I set up a tiny 2ft table at Balboa Park in San Diego and sold my earrings in person for the first time.
Over the next few years, I refined my process, joined weekend craft fairs, and met so many wonderful, supportive customers. Thanks to them, this little passion project grew into a full-time business by late 2023—right around the time I was laid off from my job as a UX designer.
Now, I’m pouring my heart into Kamyi.Art full-time.
On this channel, you’ll find videos at the intersection of art, fashion, entrepreneurship, and travel. Whether you’re a fellow maker, small business owner, or someone who just loves beautiful things—I’m excited to share the journey with you.
