The Biafran War: A Nation Divided
"A Nation Divided" delves into one of the most tumultuous and heartbreaking chapters in African history.
This video offers a deep exploration of the Nigerian Civil War, commonly known as the Biafran War, which took place between 1967 and 1970. The conflict was marked by a fierce struggle for independence in the southeastern region of Nigeria, which declared itself the Republic of Biafra.

In this video, we examine the complex causes of the war, including ethnic tensions, political corruption, and economic disparities that fueled the desire for secession. We also shed light on the devastating humanitarian crisis that ensued, with widespread famine, mass displacement, and the tragic loss of over a million lives, many of them children.

Through personal stories, historical footage, and expert analysis, "The Biafran War: A Nation Divided" seeks to understand the deep scars left by the conflict and its lasting impact on Nigeria and the African continent as a whole. This video is not just a recounting of events, but a tribute to those who suffered and a reflection on the lessons learned from this painful chapter in history.

Join us as we explore the complexities of a war that continues to resonate in Nigeria's national consciousness and in the memories of those who lived through it.

In some Igbo cultural areas, the widow is subjected to an oath to prove her innocence that she did not have a hand in the death of her husband. In some extreme cases where the widow has no male child, she is sacked from the home which she had suffered to build with her late husband. Unfortunately, the family members of the late husband will inherit the said properties. Worse of it is when the wife did not bear any male child with the late husband.
Is it fair? Or tradition has to be relooked at. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into this issue.
