calling all medical, nursing, dental (& healthcare) students on placement 🩺📚
my girlfriend & I’s productivity store Papelería just launched our Clinical Pocket Notebooks for all healthcare students to help take your medical education to the next level - with features such as patient history templates, placement organisation checklists, procedure & examination feedback pages. Check it out here: papeleriaofficial.company.site/
I knew I made something special once I had started my paediatrics rotation and felt so frustrated that the notebooks hadn’t arrived from our supplier - and had to resort to writing my placement notes on the back of a patient leaflet.
Lastly, practice makes progress is a quote that features on the back cover; perfectly encapsulating an attitude I’m trying to have at medical school. Feeling an immense pressure to learn new skills immediately to avoid disappointing other senior clinicians or to not feel like an imposter in front of other medical students has been a huge factor driving my anxiety. I had stopped enjoying the process of learning and began striving for perfection. I’d forgotten that medicine is defined by life long learning, meaning that in medicine you will NEVER be perfect. I wanted all students to be able to see this quote on the back of the notebook, as a reminder to practice to be better not perfect for our patients.
Our Clinical Pocket Notebook is now available on the website.

I’VE JUST LAUNCHED MY VERY OWN STATIONARY STORE - PAPELERÍA!
what do you get when you mix a medical student with a hectic workload and an architecture student that's a whiz at graphic design? a minimalist, aesthetic and powerful productivity planner created for students.
my gf and i wanted to make something that wasn't just a half arsed attempt to make money off my subscribers. i wanted to produce something i was proud to put my name on, that I truly believed in, and that people would value. i also saw a huge gap in the market, why are planners either £30+, ask me daily how many glasses of water i've drunk, or are written in comic sans?
so so many hours have gone into launching our products and this store, and absolutely no corners have been cut. it would make all the effort worth it if you checked out our website and ordered your planners before the preorder deadline (13th JAN)

today i received my final grade for my bachelor of medical sciences degree*… do y’all wanna see a med school update/results video?!
*at my medical school we first complete a BMedSci degree (at the end of year 3) on top of our medical degree. this degree is made up of exams and a dissertation!

IT’S OVER! I’VE FINALLY SUBMITTED MY BMedSci DISSERTATION! 🤩👩🏽⚕️
👩🏽💻I remember the first lecture of medical school when they told us that in 3rd year we’d write a 10,000 word dissertation in 3 months, I literally thought it’d be impossible.
💉2 years later and I’ve finally done it. Not only have I written a dissertation I’m pretty happy with, but I’ve also gotten the opportunity to explore the field of anaesthesiology thanks to my wonderfully supportive supervisor.
👩🏽⚕️ In a month I’ll be starting placement for the very first time. This is another part of medical school I’ve been dreading - going in 9-5 to come home and have to study everything under the sun?? But I know, just like this BMedSci, it will be doable even if it doesn’t seem like it yet.

HELLO NEW SUBSCRIBERS 👋🏽
Until you’re a YouTuber you won’t understand the stress and guilt you feel from not having posted a video in weeks.
But the reason is right now I’m a couple days from handing in my dissertation. For those of you who didn’t know - I’m a third year medical student writing a dissertation so I can get my first degree (Bachelor of Medical Sciences - BMedSci) 👩🏽🎓
It’s very stressful over here, and there is no time to do anything. Not edit, workout, see friends - changing out of pyjamas is a challenge in itself. 👩🏽💻
Can’t wait for the deadline date (18th of Jan) to pass - some banging videos coming your way! 🤍

✨ some weekend reading ✨
I wrote a blog for @universityofnottingham medical school to celebrate their 50th anniversary! I give an honest account of the life lessons I’ve learnt since starting medical school; life lessons on becoming a better doctor, getting help when you’re struggling, and challenging yourself to living a more well-rounded life.
