Presenting this program on Saturday, it is a real treat, one that many subscribers have asked to see. I have presented clips from the show, but the full show is fascinating. It could not run on TV today. If you are prone to cutting off when Mr. Meeks presents his documentary, go past it and hear the rest of the debate. watch video on watch page

Dear Subscribers,

Another snapshot amateur photograph in my collection.

Definitely taken by a female, as they would never pose this way with a male photographer. Bananas and all.

Dear Subscribers,

Here is another poem written by my father in his later life, H. Lawrence Hoffman, and put on my mother's desk.

I would like to especially thank Nick, if he is reading this Community Post, as he sends Heidi and I a financial gift through the mail anonymously and to celebrate my mother and father.
Thank you, Nick.

Dear Subscribers,

I don't believe that Nelson Mandela is the first person to have said this, but I believe the placard. I have lived it. It is wonderful to overcome fear and move forward aware that you are afraid and in spite of it. It feels better than not being aware that you have fear and doing something which does frighten you.

I think back on my life and the amazing things I did with no fear. It surprises me now because I should have been afraid.

I was in Sumatra filming oil and gas drilling. I was walking toward the helicopter that was picking us up and I didn't duck. An oil man knocked me over so I wouldn't be hit by the blade, and I felt no fear. Just got up and got on the chopper. That was dumb.

These days I notice my fears each day and I overcome them. Moving forward and not letting fear stop me, but with wisdom.

I hope this is helpful to some of you

This is a very provocative film. The documentary was made in a rich neighborhood at the same time as the 1960s were rebelling. watch video on watch page

Dear Subscribers,

As many of you know, I am healing from a stroke.

It is difficult for me to be easy on myself. I challenge myself every day in the walk in picking something off the floor, in speaking without lisping as my voice is not what it was. But fortunately, my ability to communicate with you is as it was. It seems to be better.

Is it a fair trade-off? At this point in my life, I'm not sure. But I keep on going. Day after day on YouTube. Thank God I have it.

It's not peace that I most desire, although it is wonderful that I have peace in my home. It's ability and the ability to do what I want to do.

I wonder how many of you experience this and if so, I hope you share your experience with us all in the comments.

Thank you.

Maybe some of the subscribers who work with stocks & Wall Street can explain this to me. I filmed it in 1996, but it didn't make much sense to me. watch video on watch page

Dear Subscribers, Yesterday, I had a cup of coffee with a man who is a "roofer." His hands were very rough, and so was his face. I felt for him. People who work in the industrial age doing the hard jobs on their body.

This is a photograph of Napoleonic War veteran Henry Maidment. Henry was an agricultural labourer who lived in the North Dorset village of Pimperne. In 1866, Henry was one of the few surviving British Army veterans who had fought Napoleon Bonaparte’s French Army in the Spanish Peninsular War.

Unknown Peninsular War veteran: At 83, he could not work and had hit hard times. He was surviving on a parish handout of just two shillings and sixpence per week and a single loaf of bread. The octogenarian pauper had, in fact, a distinguished military record but had left the army without a military pension.

I honor all the men and women who do tough physical labor and have paid for it in the way their bodies feel.

I made this documentary in 1980 and it's fascinating to see how it looked, to how we examined the coming of the computer and the information age. We knew so little back then, and most people didn't see it coming. watch video on watch page
