From an astrological standpoint, the Sun represents our core essence, vitality, and life force. It symbolizes our identity, ego, and self-expression. When the Sun energy is not activated, it can have various implications. Here are a few possibilities:

β€œThe 2 most important things I've learned about why people struggle to get an interview with their resume. Here's what I do on my resume and what can help you get an interviewπŸ‘‡

Earlier this year I had to revisit my own resume to find a new job amidst all the tech 'crazy' market conditions and talked to 100+ who were either laid off or looking for a new job. Here are the common mistakes I found...

1️⃣ Describe what you accomplished, not your responsibilities

Most people focus on describing what they were hired to do.
For example, most Product Manager resumes I reviewed would write:
❌ "Owned and prioritized the product's roadmap"

ANY Product Manager is RESPONSIBLE for owning and prioritizing the product's roadmap.
What makes YOU stand out? β†’ you accomplishments

Use the X+Y+Z formula instead β†’ Accomplished {X} as measured by {Y}, by doing {Z}

Accomplished [X] β†’ "Increased customer base for XXXX Product..."
As measured by [Y] β†’ "...by Y% in ZZ months,..."
By doing [Z} β†’ "... by leveraging user research, customer interviews and market research to prioritize the product's roadmap, and aligning X teams internally"

βœ… X+Y+Z β†’ "Increased customer base for XXXX Product by Y% in ZZ months, by leveraging user research, customer interviews, and market research to prioritize the product's roadmap and aligning X teams internally"

Describe what you accomplished and how you accomplished it to stand out from the rest. Describing what you are responsible for doesn't tell your story, it only tells that you can do what anyone else in your role is supposed to do.

2️⃣ Tailor your resume to a specific job... or at least an industry.

Last week I coached a Product Manager who was interested in two different jobs. One was a health-tech startup and the other was a Fin-Tech mid-size company.

❌ Their resume did not have accomplishments, experiences or keywords related to any of those jobs (or industries) that he was interested in.

βœ… Here's how to tailor your resume to a job...
β†’ Look at the "Required" or "Basic" qualifications section in a job description. You'll grab the keywords from there.
β†’ Write accomplishments (and include keywords in them) that are related to the job.
You might have an awesome Product Manager accomplishment about working with APIs in a B2B product, but if you are applying for a Consumer mobile app front-end role, your API work may not be as relevant.

πŸ”΄ Bad β†’ Low effort, Low Conversion β†’ One resume for all your applications
🟑 Ok β†’ Med effort, Med Conversion β†’ Tailor your resume to an industry or technology (e.g. Machine Learning, SaaS, Consumer Apps)
🟒 Better β†’ High effort, Med-High Conversion β†’Tailor your resume to each job.
