My next video is available now for Early Access-level patrons! It'll be live for everyone tomorrow evening.
Had a lot of roadblocks this month, but at least this one got finished. Let's see what you think about it!

So, what was that post a couple days ago about? Let me explain...
First...yeah, despite my best hopes, I got derailed too much behind the scenes by this illness or whatever it is that keeps ailing me. I know, you probably saw it coming. I'll still be able to have the first video originally planned for this month out, but Challenger Approaching's probably going to be an early September thing now. At least it'll be before any potential Nintendo Direct next month...probably.
Second, there's something I've been thinking about doing. You know how some channels offer memberships directly through Youtube with rewards for monthly pledges, like a counterpart to Patreon? I'm considering opening that up, as a counterpart to the Patreon I already have. This would be an alternate option for anyone more comfortable pledging directly on-site instead of needing to sign up for an account somewhere else. Most importantly, the rewards would be the same (or as close to the same as I can get it) on both sites! Names in the credits, supporter polls, early access, the whole nine yards.
I've hesitated on doing this before, because I was worried it wouldn't go over well with those of you who already support me on Patreon. But I brought it up there a couple nights ago, and the responses I got were positive, so I'm considering it more strongly now. Again, I'm not asking anyone to double dip--wouldn't be any benefit anyway, since it'd be the same perks twice.
(There's also the fact that Youtube is offering cash incentives to midsize channels who start using the feature. Could be a legit help for me right now with how much has gone wrong this year, you know?)
So, is anyone interested? If you haven't backed me on Patreon so far, would you be up for on-site memberships as an alternate way to lend support?

Calling all patrons! There's a new post on my Patreon for paid supporters detailing something I'm considering doing. Want to get your feedback on it before I go forward.

Channel update regarding plans for the rest of August:
If I've seemed quiet again, well, there's a reason for that. My original plan was to try a slightly new structure for this month, creating two smaller videos for the first half in place of a full-size one. Things were going smoothly at first.
Then I came down with what is either a bad cold or _another_ sinus infection. If you include whatever is was that gave me about 12 hours of stomach pain a week and a half ago, it means I've gotten sick four times in the last 2 1/2 months.
I'd say "of all the rotten luck", but at this point I'm used to stuff suddenly going wrong.
Anyway, had to change plans a little. Instead of two shorter videos + a regular size one, I found a way to expand the script for one of them, and now I'm planning on doing two full-length videos like usual. First one will be a video essay involving some recent Mario Kart controversy.
As for the second...it's about time Challenger Approaching got going again, isn't it?

One more before the month's end! My next video is available now for Early Access-tier patrons, live for everyone tomorrow afternoon.
Might be functionally zero chance of any Smash news in tomorrow's Direct, but we can still talk about something the next game could do...
133 - 13
Took longer than I'd hoped, but my next video is available now for Early Access-tier patrons! It'll be live for everyone tomorrow afternoon.
This one's about a topic I've been wanting to cover for a couple years now...
184 - 7
Another small setback that hopefully won't affect my plans for the month. This time it was having the electricity go out for more than a day when a tree branch fell a few houses over and took a line down, and what was supposed to be a routine fix kept having unexpected problems pop up that required extra crews to deal with. Back on the grid now, but I do not recommend having that happen during the hottest time of the year.
Meanwhile, the latest video...did not go as I'd hoped. Can I ask a question? Those of you who are regular viewers but didn't watch the DK Spaceport video, what about it made you uninterested in checking it out?
241 - 39
Mind if I ask a question? If you've followed my channel for a while, you've probably noticed the subject matter of my videos shift over time. As we got further from Ultimate's final update, I started noticing lower interest in Smash content among the wider gaming sphere. Wanted to diversify things and spread the scope of my channel further to compensate! But maybe that might've come at the expense of not appealing to you guys who are already here.
Basically, I'm trying to plan out the rest of the summer, and I want to find the right balance of video topics. With that in mind, which of my videos are you most interested in watching?
154 - 54
My next video just became available for Early Access-tier patrons! It'll go live here tomorrow afternoon, a couple hours earlier than usual.
Who all has been playing Mario Kart World? Up for a closer look at why an early fan favorite track has caught on so well?
146 - 9
Wouldn't you know it, I seem to be sick AGAIN. At least this one seems to just be a cold? Aside from the phlegm, anyway.
The good news is I already have the voiceover recorded for the next video, so there shouldn't be much of a delay. Still on track to be out in about a week and a half!

Youtube long runner focused on the Super Smash Bros. games (diverting to other topics sometimes) with a lean toward analysis, theorycrafting, and video essays. Known best for two signature series: Challenger Approaching, which designs full-fledged newcomer concepts for characters that haven't make it into Smash yet, and Remake It, which takes Smash veterans who haven't held up very well and reworks their stats, moves, and other details to make them better than ever.
