Amidst the heavy rain and storm clouds, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited's (TSECL) engineers and personnel have been working diligently since the morning to undo the electrical damage performed by the Remal cyclone.

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath took to facebook appreciating the staff and engineers of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited for their efforts in working to swiftly restore electricity damaged by the cyclone.

"Due to the impact of Cyclone Ramel, electricity services have been disrupted in various parts of the state. Poles are broken, wires are snapped, transformers are burnt. But despite the heavy rains, the engineers and workers of Tripura's Rajya Vidyut Nigam Limited have been working on repairing the lines since morning" Nath wrote on Facebook.

He also commended the public for extending their support to the corporation employees and urged everyone of the state to continue the same in the future also.

"I also congratulate the people of the state for extending their cooperation. I urge the public to continue supporting the electricity service sector in the future" Ratan added in the post.

Cyclone Ramel has indeed halted Tripura's ongoing life. It has resulted in massive power shortages. Sharp gusts and unrelenting rain storms have destroyed pillars, ripped cables, and burned transformers, leaving many places in darkness.

In what couldn't-be-a-more-simpler dish; Tohan-Wahan Mosdeng, Awandru, Boiled Rice, mint and omelette with side salad platter is the new reimagining of Tripuri cuisine.

A restaurant tucked in the tropical hustle and bustle of Aguli, Bhagwan Thakur Chowmhuni; Kozan: a multi cuisine Asian theme restaurant is trying to introduce the offerings of Tripuri dishes in a bowl.

The full meal bowl takes something customary but presents it with a new concept in today's fast era of eating outside.

The place Kozan situated at two places usually serves Japanese and Korean dishes from Ramen to Ramyeon but this particular effort from 2024 was an intentional effort to introduce the local platter to the en masse.

The all round the year ingredients and the simplicity of the plating gives way for people to taste Tripura local delights in one go.

As Yotam Ottolenghi, the British chef and restaurateur writes: Cooking happens everyday and food evolves organically within families and communities. Efforts such as this paves way to getting our dishes in the mainstream of Thali culture.

Tripuri Thali still needs to be understood and added on every restaurant menus but such endeavors can show a path to doing it.

On Monday, the BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT parties organized a joint mega gathering in Kumarghat, Unakoti district, to support BJP candidates in the East and West Tripura constituencies.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the gathering and assured that the tripartite agreement signed by the GOI, the State government, and Tipra Motha party leaders would be fulfilled.

Shah stated that the agreement includes everything and targeted the CPI-M, claiming that communists are spreading "rumors." The agreement includes measures to promote community harmony as well as state development, Shah said.

In a lighthearted aside, he called royal scion 'Bubagra' Pradyot Manikya a 'cleaver' because of his ability to bring up every issue to be included in the Accord.

Shah criticized the left regime's bad policies of depriving the people of the state and the changes implemented after the BJP led by Modi took office in 2018.

During the left regime, there was only one highway, now there are a total of nine highways in the state. Shah further adds, development of the tribal areas in Tripura is a priority for the BJP.

"Neither Congress nor the Communists allowed anyone from the tribal community to hold a higher position. By appointing a tribal member as president of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the tribe for the first time, he said.

"The Ministry of Tribal Affairs had a budget of Rs 24,000 crore prior to 2014." It went up to Rs. 1,25,000 crore under PM Modi," he said.

Bubagra also urged supporters to vote to protect future generations' interests and to send a message that Tripura has been freed from the CPI-M's grip.

CM Dr. Manik Saha, TMP Chief B.K. Hrangkhawl, Rajib Bhattacharjee, BJP State President, Minister Animesh Debbarma, Sukla Charan Noatia, BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb, and Kriti Singh Debbarman were present at the massive event.

Bubagra Pradyot Manikya issued a voice statement against the Janajati Suraksha Manch,

Tipra Motha Party Founder, Bubagra Pradyot Manikya on Friday issued a voice statement against the Janajati Suraksha Manch calling their move a conspiracy against Tiprasas unity.

Denouncing the act of playing with religion as a means of dividing Tiprasa unity. Bubagra enunciates "I have articulated multiple times that many conspiracies are being pushed against Tiprasa by the provoker to harm the Tiprasa's Unity turning a Tiprasa as mouthpiece".

"Will Hindu Tiprasa get the constitutional rights by negating the rights of Christians (convert) Tiprasa or vice versa" never. Bubagra told to the agitator.

Terming the whole agenda as part of the diversion tactic from the core issue, Bubagra said, "It has nothing to do with Christians, Hindus, or Buddhists but the purpose is to split the unity between Tiprasa and if we engage ourselves fighting over religious lines our community will sabotage and it will benefit exclusively to those who want our land, money and I resource the outsiders".

Suggesting measures to impede such matters he adds, "We are Tiprasa first before the religion and the party".

"I will not fight for your religion or your party, but I will fight for the community". Speaking of the community as the topmost critical for the existence of religion or the party he asserted.

Attending the 24th South Zone TSB Fresher's Cum-Social Meet 2023, organized by Tripura Swrwngnai Buthu (TSB) an affiliated body of Tripura Chubalai Buthu (TCB), on Tuesday, in the Sachin Dev Burman Auditorium in Belonia, under the South Tripura district, Tripura.

Addressing the assemblage SDPO Prasun Kanti Tripura pressed the issue associated with career building, and the significance of attitude towards dealing with challenges in life.

Besides sharing his struggles from becoming SI to achieving DSP in the police department, he also gave insights about drug-related issues and problems.

At one moment in his speech, he said, "I want to see our dada (big brother) Jitendra Chaudhury to Jitendra Tripura, we would feel proud if he modifies his title to Tripura".

Earlier I was unfamiliar that he was Tripura, which I was apprised of later by an inspector during the training period in the year 1994, when he was the Minister of Forest and Industry, Commerce, and Sports. Later after digging, I found he was a close relative of mine.

Adding that it would help the former if he changes his surname as "It would not require him to introduce himself as his title will notify where he's from" pointing an instance to his scenario about the title Tripura.

Prasun Kanti Tripura is a well-known police officer of the state known for his prompt action and motivational discourses through his YouTube channel, he is presently serving as the Sub-Divisional Police Office (SDPO) in the Teliamura subdivision under the Khowai District, Tripura.

"Those words come from people who poop on the pond where they brush their teeth," says Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma.

The strong remarks at a press meet come as a response to the recent video statement made so called janajati protection group.

If Tiprasas did not become Christians; I cannot contemplate where they would be. Would there have been TCS, TPS, and Gazetted Tiprasa officers if they didn't get educated by studying in Christian Schools.

I want to know the motive of these people. What do they want from these demands?

India is a great country because of its secularism. The world looks to it because of its democracy.

"The day India will be dictated and divided by the walls of religion. That day will mark the decline of India's progress. I respect the Indian Constitution. I respect every religion and culture."

"My request to such a group of people is to not mislead the Tiprasa people. It will be wise to stay away from such appeasement", Mr Debbarma said.

Connectivity with price, the rail link between the Indo-Bangla Border,

Recently Indian government unfurled ties with Bangladesh by linking the country's first railway connectivity with Bangladesh in northeastern states, the Akhaura- Agartala Cross-Border Rail project worth INR 392.52 crores granted by the government of India according to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the final expense is reckoned at INR 862.58 crores according to Observer Research Foundation (ORF). The Dual Gauge rail line is 5.46 km in the state of Tripura and 6.78 km in Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed it a 'historic juncture" while Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha says it is crucial for the Northeast and a gateway to tourism for Tripura.

However, what is the prevailing anxiety of Tiprasa on this recent development?

No mistrust that according to the 'India Tourism Statistics at a Glance 2023' report, Bangladesh accounted for 20.29 percent of overall foreign tourist visits in India with foreign tourist arrivals of 12,55,960, but is there any concrete data on illegal tourists or immigrants that settled through localized channels who aid the illegal trespasser over the fence or through another illegal route, being the worst state affected by the illegal settlers the new outcome is jeopardizing.

Will this upshot even shift toward Visa-free entry?

This query unfolds as the bilateral relationship with Bangladeshis has enhanced over the years. The Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen of Bangladesh also pushed this issue into various symposia, according to him visa-free entry in both countries will aid in mutual advantages in bilateral trade, education, culture, society, and technology". Although India has not repudiated the complete idea however has not taken a comprehensive decision on it. It's a fact that it will benefit Bangladesh more than India, being a country with a top-five world economy and growing markets. Furthermore, India grants loans to its counterparts at a special interest rate of 1% per annum on various infrastructural developments with a repayment debt extended up to 20 years.

What jeopardizes is that in the case of visa-free entry, citizens of the country are not mandated to have visas or passports to come into India and may live and work in India without any restrictions on staying or visiting or vice versa. Which means it will legally sanction the Bangladeshi illegal expatriates across the border in pursuit of better conditions. Unfortunately, the sole state that offers all conditions is Tripura due to similarities in cultural and linguistic points of outlook. The willingness of early illegal settlers (now legitimate according to criteria) to escort them also nurtures further.

Negative impacts,

Although it proposes humongous prospects in various sectors the Northeast region is its only land bridge with the nations of Southeast Asia. However, there are evident security concerns, especially for Tripura which is encircled by a frontier on its three sides, the trans-border narcotic syndicates that operate between Indo-Bangladesh and Myanmar pose an enormous threat. Besides the security of the nation will also be at stake, as MHA reports claim many rebel groups and militant outfits still operate in Bangladesh, the burst made in 2018, against the suspected ISIS-inspired affliction also suggests. The northeast could become a haven for drug lords as it has porous semi-mountainous, and dense forest cover, are our security forces equipped with adequate technology to tackle all these challenges? The Daily reports of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis illegal immigrants confined by police departments raise trepidation about the proficiency of the Border Security Force (BSF) the news articles and editorials on the internet are flooded with such reports, and the recent bursts yielded by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on illegal human trafficking networks of illegal settlers in Indian soil has further honed it, which accounted for nearly 50% of 44 person arrests made in Tripura. Also, it's not feasible for NIA to scrutinize in day-to-day cases which implies at least for one or two more decades it won't be feasible to enforce visa-free entry for citizens of both countries. Even for its undertaking, the union government must guarantee the safety and security of the Indigenous populace of the worst affected border states like Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya. The CAA protests of 2019 itself have drawn marks on such a decision which offers legitimacy for illegal trespassers.
