Suddenly, the fog of SEO myths clears, and you're hit with the truth – a lot of the SEO guidance out there is pure malarkey. 🙅♂️

What works for one may not work for another, and that's why personal experimentation is key. It's the only way to truly know what moves the needle for your site.
So, next time you come across a "foolproof" SEO tactic, take it with a grain of salt. 🧂

I hope you had a great Christmas and had time to unwind and spend with fam!!
So, I took a leap and decided to launch a new website on Christmas Eve. To be honest, my expectations were modest at first - it was more of a 'let's see how this goes' kind of thing. But boy, was I in for a surprise! 🎁💥
It's a new affiliate site targeting "bottom of the funnel customers". You know, those that are looking for reviews on a company, service or product.
📅 The Journey Begins:
It all started as a quiet Christmas project. There I was, setting up the site, thinking it would be a gradual climb. Little did I know, things were about to take an exciting turn! 🎢🔮
🚀 Rapid Developments:
Within days, the site got indexed on Google - way faster than I anticipated! My first blog post? Indexed on day one. It felt like hitting a digital jackpot! 🎯🌍
I'm not saying this to brag or gloat. I'm just explaining that in this case, there was no sandbox.
🤓 Navigating the New Terrain:
I dived into targeting niche retailers and long-tail keywords. The strategy was simple but effective - less competition and higher potential gains. It was like finding hidden gems in the vast online marketplace. 💎🕵️♂️
🎥 The Power of Content:
Mixing written and video content, I aimed to capture the essence of both Google and YouTube. The challenge was real, but so was the thrill of creating something unique and impactful. 📝📹
🌐 Lessons Learned:
This journey taught me heaps about SEO, affiliate marketing, and the power of perseverance. It's incredible how much you can achieve with a well-planned strategy and a sprinkle of daring. 📊🧗♂️

So, I came out with a new video yesterday entitled:
Why I'm Ditching Niche Sites For Full-Time Affiliate Marketing In 2024

I just wanted to add some additional context so that people who watch(ed) it don't get the wrong idea.
In the video, I explain why I'm selling all of my niche websites and going all in on affiliate marketing or websites specifically set up for affiliate marketing.
I'm doing this because I think Google is in panic mode with all of the AI/LLMs that have been prevalent in 2023.
This panic has kind of clouded their judgment and they pretty much hardcoded for forum + question-and-answer sites to be shoved to the top of the results rather than letting the algorithm do its thing naturally.
Like a lot of others, my sites lost a lot of rankings and in turn revenue.
I had a choice: Do I try to fight, and restructure my content and websites or do I pivot and change direction?
From a subjective and purely selfish view, I decided to change tact and position my business differently.
Here's my plan for 2024:
What I'm NOT Doing 👇🏼
❌ Niche Websites: Updating and creating more niche websites. IMO, there is limited growth and income potential compared to affiliate marketing as my own figures have shown.
❌ Overdependence on Google's Algorithm: I'll be using some new strategies and techniques to rank my pages instead of relying solely on Google's changing search algorithms.
❌ Ignoring AI's Impact: Not adapting to the increasing influence of AI in digital marketing.
What I'm Doing ✅
✅ Affiliate Marketing: Embracing the higher income potential and broader audience reach. I was relying on display ad income, but until things change (if ever) I'll be focusing on promoting affiliate offers.
✅ YouTube Integration: Utilizing YouTube for SEO and audience expansion. The sheer reach and scope means I (as a marketer) can't ignore this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Plenty of marketers are ignoring it. To me, I'm using my time to leverage eyeballs instead of spending $$$$$.
✅ Dynamic Content: Use API calls and automated tools for content variation and updates.
✅ Personal Touch: Injecting personality and viewpoints into content for a unique edge.

Honestly, I can't answer that... That's really down to you to decide.
I'm putting a stake in the ground and setting some new targets for the new year!
