The Royal School of Needlework is the international centre of excellence for the art of hand embroidery, ensuring the future of this beautiful art form. Founded in 1872, we celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2022 during which we will run special events.
The RSN teaches at Hampton Court Palace in south west London; in UK venues in Bristol, Rugby, Durham and Glasgow; internationally in North America and Japan, and Online. RSN Collection Online Talks are hosted each month.
RSN students study a variety of classes online and onsite, including Day & Evening Classes and Certificate & Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery. The RSN teaches a BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery and the Future Tutors Programme which trains Tutors for the next generation.
The RSN's commercial Embroidery Studio in Hampton Court Palace creates bespoke commissions for the future and restores historical textiles, bringing heirlooms back to life.
