Future Human by Design (FHbD) is a blog which publishes my design research writing focussed on the overlaps between Philosophy, Design, and Futures.
I'm now undertaking further research through a PhD of Design. The focus for my research and therefore FHbD is in the hybrid spaces of Nature, technology, and culture. Enquiring into how society can approach these spaces in a non-anthropocentric manner. While Futures processes certainly inform some of the work it is not the focus. The exploration of object-oriented philosophical concepts for design for a post-Anthropocene epoch has become the overarching driver, and will result in new directions for this channel and the blog. The work will focus on how design can actively engage with the nonhuman, through careful methodical approaches to speculate on their lifeworlds. I hope the rather infrequent postings on this channel engage your thinking in new ways for design contexts.
