The Mool Mantar, also known as The Root Verse, serves as the foundational principle in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, encapsulating the essence of Sikh belief and philosophy:
1. Ik Oankar - The One Creator: All creation emanates from the singular source, denoted as lk Oankar. Ik Oankar is a dynamic force that not only creates the Universe but also permeates it, imbuing the existence of every being with Divinity.
2. Sat Nam - Eternal Identity: When we consciously, consistently, constantly and conscientiously identify with Ik Oankar the eternal prevalent in every person, place and thing, we facilitate our transformation to be Ik Oankar-like.
3. Karta Purakh, Creative-Being : Since IK Oankar is dynamic, creative and eternal. Embodying our thoughts, words, feelings and actions with oneness, our responses will be positive and creative. We will create mindfully, consciously our world in alignment with IK Oankar.
4. Nirbhau - Fearlessness: Embrace fearlessness by simply following the dictum “Just Like Me”. When we see lk Oankar in all, the otherness dissipates and there is no room for fear. Where there is faith, trust there is no fear.
5. Nirvair - See No Enemy - Drop all assumptions, complains, blames, presumptions. Abandon hostility, jealously, ego. Perceive, infer and see through compassion, understanding and oneness.
6. Akal Murat - Timeless Form: Act with discernment, distinguishing between the transient and the eternal through a steadfast connection with the divine.
7. Ajuni - Unborn: Transcend the cycle of birth and death by being awake, conscious of the Divinity in yourself, others and around you. Be fully present to Now and live completely in the now. 8.
Saibhang- Self-Illumined : Develop an independent self-sovereign identity that is not dependent on anyone or anything. Form a direct connection with the Divine,Creator, Ik Oankar, without a mediator.
9. Gur Prasad, (Realized) By the Guru’s Grace: When we tune in to this infinite all loving expansive fearless eternal sell illumined consciousness, we experience the ever prevalent Grace.
