Founded in 1974, Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) is a nonprofit that works to ensure all on Cape Cod and the Islands have access to safe, secure, decent housing.
Our programs include operating four family shelters on Cape Cod; connecting homeless individuals on Cape Cod to the services they need to move into stable housing; preventing families and individuals from becoming homeless; developing affordable housing; improving the energy efficiency of low-income households; offering financial literacy classes (Housing Search, Money Matters, First-Time Homebuyer, and Post Purchase); providing foreclosure prevention and reverse mortgage counseling; overseeing more than 1,100 Section 8 vouchers in the region; conducting affordable housing lotteries; and assisting homeowners and homebuyers wit the sale and purchase of affordable and market rate properties through our nonprofit real estate department, Cape Community Real Estate (CCRE).
