About Dr. Suman (Kanti) Chowdhury

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech University. I work on human-machine interaction, immersive technologies, operator fatigue and stress in the workplace, and healthcare and rehabilitation engineering. My focus is on investigating the multifaceted effects of fatigue (both physical and mental) on neuromuscular dynamics and visual performances in a complex human-machine system. The goals of my research are to discover new scientific knowledge, techniques, and approaches and then instantiate them in product and work design processes to improve human ability and performance. I have co-authored peer-reviewed articles for reputed journals, including Human Factors, Journal of Biomechanics, Safety Science, Ergonomics, and Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology.
