Comparative translation and analysis of the Tao Te Ching between Chinese and English.
In the "Tao Te Ching," Lao Tzu tells us that 'Dao' is omnipresent. It has no form or sound, and it cannot be described in language or perceived through the five senses. So, what is 'Dao' exactly? What important influences does it have on our lives? Why must human society follow the 'Dao'? And how should we understand and cognize the 'Dao'?
What exactly is 'Dao'? As we learned in the previous video, 'Dao' is an abstract and hypothetical noun. It can represent all the concepts we want to know. If we want to know something, we can speculate using 'Dao' to obtain predictive results. This is what makes the "Tao Te Ching" very flexible and mysterious.
So, how does Lao Tzu define 'Dao' in the "Tao Te Ching"?

Life is but a short span of a few decades. Each person arrives in this world bare and departs empty-handed. So, where does the value of life manifest? If one is to be a human, then one should be a person of value. I believe this is a viewpoint that everyone can accept. The whole world is asking—what is the highest value in life? Many people put forth their ideas, diverse and numerous. However, Lao Tzu is remarkably insightful, he tells us—the highest value in life is 'X'.

Since ancient times, there have been numerous interpretations of the first six characters of the opening sentence of the "Tao Te Ching" - "道可道非常道". Due to the absence of punctuation in ancient Chinese, people often interpreted and segmented the sentence based on their own understanding, leading to different readings. Currently, there are three widely accepted ways of reading these characters: "道,可道,非常道", "道可,道非,常道", and "道可道,非常道". What do these three readings mean? And how should these six characters be interpreted?
I used the English way to explain the Tao Te Ching in Chinese, the content is deeper, I hope you like it.
