The Wife and I started out on our journey two days before Thanksgiving 2023. After we unloaded our uhaul we started enjoying °11-17 nights and we had no heater. We snuggled in bed with the dog and cat for the first week until we got the hose to the heater.
Now we're adjusting to the elements My wife set up a miniature Christmas tree and little Xmas village.
It's a good idea if you're planning on homesteading to try it out around Xmas and January. This way you can really get a feeling for the bittersweet desolation, and decide if it's right for you.
