The name is a reference to TCP/IP as much of my work has involved internet related protocol, compression and encryption development including contributions to various IETF working groups and open source projects such as Livingston RADIUSd, OpenSSL, NCSA and Apache HTTPd, IRC, OpenSimulator and various less well known projects for streaming media, blockchain and cluster compute ML/AI and physics simulation. I ran a BBS in the 80s/90s, co-founded an ISP in the early 90s and operated a popular IRC server for two decades. I've also worked on commercial signal processing drivers and software for a major video capture hardware company and biosignal processing firmware and software for a medical device manufacturer. At last count, I program in a little over two dozen languages.
