Beatrix needs our help. Over the last couple of days, she has suddenly grown lethargic and her health has declined rapidly. Thankfully, I caught it early and scheduled an appointment for her. But their earliest availability was not until Thursday (today now). I kept a close eye on her but her state began to deteriorate enough for me to rush her to the ER late last night. After a sleepless night in my car as she spent the night in the ER, she's now with the doctor and they are trying to keep her stabalized. I'm fearful that if she even makes it at all, her hospital bill is going to be severe. As you know, Beatrix is a rescue that came to me several years ago with respiratory infections and severe muscle atrophy. She was nearly in the same lethargic condition she's in now when I found her. She's always been the weakest bird here and unfortunately has struggled and faced a lot throughout her life- including being kept in a gerbil cage for the first year or so of her life before she came to live with me. Please consider helping her by donating using the link in our bio or joining us on patreon...she needs us.

Brock has been passionate about toucans since childhood with a drive to research all available information he can about the birds. The channel all started with Ripley and her silly antics, then expanded to include education about toucans domestic and wild and their behavior. Now, together with his ragtag flock of mismatched, traumatized and disabled toucans- he hopes to not only provide a better life for needy birds, but also provide an experience for people to learn more about these wonderful creatures through social media, while also advocating that toucans do not make good pets in hopes to spare other birds from neglect. He is actively working to create the first toucan sanctuary in the US in hopes to take in as many sick and injured toucans as he can and provide a safe and enriching environment for them.
