This channels sits at the intersection of disability and engineering. I think assistive tech, especially upper-limb prosthetics like bionic arms, suffers from communication problems between amputees and engineers, and the end results don't actually solve the problems they aim to.
Well, I'm both--an upper-limb amputee and a robotics engineer. I've used several types of prosthetics in my life, and I build exoskeletons at work. On this channel I'm going to build every open-source prosthetic arm that exists, to see which actually work, and compare them against the state of the art. Plus, I'll build a bunch of my own designs along the way.
