That line and Deadpool and Wolverineâs story really stayed with me. Started on this figure last year during Hurricane Helene while the power was out. Worked on it on/off ever since, and never lost interest because I really appreciate this new variant of Logan. Alone, X-Men all wiped out, even condemned by his world, and man he still gets another chance.
Still got a ways to go on him and an alternate pair of arms to do. Took heavy inspiration from @jin.custom for the whole design. Mask was heavily modded/sculpted over from a KO Wolverine. Arms are entirely from the KO fig as well. A lot more still to see on this one and patrons have seen this for a long time already. Unmasked head has been done for a while too.
Got a busy few weeks before current semester wraps, so might get pulled away from the work yet again. Literally couldnât work on him at all for like the entire month of March.
Not sure if/when Iâll do a new Deadpool even though Iâd really like to. Wolverineâs just been a ton of work as it is.
God I miss doing this.

When these moments come, we thinkâhow can I ever adequately describe him so people know? How can I even describe his quirks and all his personality?
How can you sum up 12 years of love, laughter & joy? How can I just put my best friend, my big man, into one post?
I donât know that I can.
The pain is heavy and the void is deafening. 1/3 of my soul was lost today.
We held him, and hugged him one last time before he had to goâdeparting from this cold and disappointing world.
Safe travels was all I had left to say.

First time Iâve ever struggled just to fill the frame on one of these. 2024 was the first full year I spent largely away from customizing LEGO to generate new momentum in other areas of my life. I know a lot of you miss the work and so do Iâsorry to anyone who Iâve let down. Iâll keep trying.
Living through a major hurricane disaster for 3+ weeks with no power or water was a horrendous ordeal we can never forget. Pretty wild when youâre just living up in a mountain city (that really only gets high winds in the fall), only for a hurricane to roll through and suddenly youâre part of a federally declared disaster zone overnight. No one expected it, and it threw off the whole rest of the year. We were lucky though.
Uncertainty and doubt continue to overwhelm each day. Like anyone, I worry that what Iâm doing will never be enoughâthat Iâll never make it. But we have to keep trying anyway even if itâs true.
Years have become arbitrary, and the turn of the calendar means nothing. None of us need a calendarâs permission to move.
Made a lot of progress in 2024.
Have to do better in 2025.

Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man lives on...

The final swing of No Way Home really struck me at the time. Not only a perfect ending to a movie that really delivered, but a strong message for the world to see. Often I think about it at the end of each year now.
Peter loses everyone and everything he had in a flash. Thrust out into the cold world, alone on Christmas and with no one to remember him. He still chooses to walk alone anyway because itâs whatâs best for his friends.
He chooses to try anyway and still puts on the mask.
Iâm not saying this mostly CG sequence is the most profound ending to any filmâbut it perfectly captures the message of Spider-Man.

Another year gone in a flash. 2024 brought new trials and deeper uncertaintyâbut progress most of all.
Not perfect progress, no wild transformations, but dragging the needle. Continuing the upward trend.
Showed up where I was needed and 1.5 yrs still not a single lift missed to this day. Switched gyms too.

Mightâve been another year without any new LEGO customs. As alwaysâIâll try again.
I know you didnât really hear from me in 2024 other than Hurricane Helene either. Almost didnât post this because I feel bad about that and still donât want to preach to anyone on here.
But I always think of how I wish someone articulated this for me. Hoping this can help a few people.
Rough for me to share this stuff since itâs so far removed from the mgfcustoms thing. This is who I really am though so here goes:

The dark still calls and every day we have to answer. Spiting the dark with unrelenting progress creates non-stop evidence to the contrary. The evidence that weâre still trying, still going anyway, and trending up is the counter to despair.

We do it alone, we do it tired, we do it at our best, or absolute worst. It doesnât matter. Going anyway without expectations and making the attemptâwhether it works out or not.

Just trying anyway, regardless of how you feel about it. Dragging ourselves to do what needs to get done is the answer. The path shakes, cracks with doubt, but we stay on it.

Often, I feel like just a shadow of who I wasâan outline of a person most days. A ghost of lost potential among normal people. If youâve been able to hold onto your light, hold it tighter for the rest of us that really couldnât. The world really needs you.

The fog is unending, and maybe there really isnât a way outâbut weâre still here. It gets easier the more you stare into the void, without glancing back at stagnation.

Time waits for no one.

Hope can tag along if it wantsâbut canât ever stop now.

Words like motivation, discipline, consistency, grinding, or your âwhyâ are all distractions. No arbitrary goals or useless resolutions either. Doesnât matter what year it is. Just get it done each day.
