I made this new video for 4045. I tried to encapsulate the idea of a boundless love that lasts beyond death and into infinity. Rejecting the classic cliches of a love song, 4045 describes a series of loving friendships shared in a world on the brink of chaos. Despite our finite nature as human beings, the moment's of love that we share can bring us purpose in the present and create ripples that last forever. I began writing this song in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica about the friends I made on that journey and continued writing it in Toronto and Los Angeles. I hope you enjoy it : )

At the age of 22 Ethan Surman has spent a lifetime honing his craft. A true multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter. A melding of Pop music fervor and static bedroom recordings. Rounding out an eclectic sound that skirts the lines of R&B, Indie, and Hip Hop.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Dominic Fike, Daniel Caesar, Tame Impala, Stevie Wonder and the Beatles, Surman has formed an homage to the profoundly emotional works that raised him. Encapsulated in passionate writings and lyricism, as well as a visceral and moving live performance. Slamming together characters collected from rock bands with vocalists who bring soaring harmonies while adding moving piano melodies.
Now moving on from a scholarship at the renowned Berklee College of Music, and recordings with world class producers in the works, Ethan Surman is a musician on the cusp of a bright expansion.
