Comfort Carrots: The New Year's Wnter weather arrived late, as it did for our Canadian neighbors, this year. Given in moderation, carrots compensate some. Then, there's the present Pineapple Express weather pattern -which unfortunately for the Guinea Pig Gang, isn't edible.

Shorter days. Longer nights. Wintering guinea pigs. The typical New Years storms abound, yet there is still comfort to be found, amongst the hay, and grey skies.

Winter Cheer: Close-Up Cuteness. Thank-you for sharing all of your wonderful, heartfelt messges about our loss of Darth. As if on cue, a 'bomb cyclone' moved right on in. Now, we have a frost.

I have to say, it has been a really difficult struggle, in letting Darth go. His life spanned half of the time that I've lived here. We hope that, between all of our efforts, we afforded him the best possible quality of life. In return, he gave everyone nothing but love. Sometimes, in losing elders, we take comfort in the young, and the promise and joy of life that they bring, anew. Our daughter 'almost' rescued a sweet pig from the dark depths of the local Petco store, recently. The very last one, left behind. There's always one.

Farewell, Darth. Passed away peacefully on 11/18/2024. Aged 9 years. Beloved animal companion & highly respected head of the GP gang. Devoted friend to Abbie, the late Kumah, and Willow, and Liloo. Rest in peace, li'l guy. You are so loved!.
