It has come to the notice of ISKCON that some media reports speak of some verbal altercation between the MLA Smt Galla Madhavi garu and the ISKCON monks wherein she had asked the distribution of Bhagavad Gita to be stopped.
We would like to clarify through this statement that these reports are not factually correct and present a wrong picture.
All that she said was not to do the Gita distribution at the signals as it may cause traffic problems and potential accidents, instead do it by the side of the road or at temples. Due to the language barrier of the monks as they were non-local, there was some misunderstanding, which unfortunately got blown out of proportions. She was never disrespectful towards Bhagavad Gita nor towards the religion. Rather she has supported ISKCON multiple times in the past and is in completely good terms with ISKCON. ISKCON is committed to the serving the society peacefully and harmoniously following the rules and regulations of the land.
ISKCON has clarified and amicably sorted out the issue with the Hon MLA and all concerned stakeholders. Hare Krishna !

*OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING FLOODING OF ISKCON VIJAYAWADA TEMPLE*
Dear Devotees, Patrons, and Well-Wishers,
Hare Krishna!
We want to update you on the recent flooding at our ISKCON Vijayawada Temple. On Sunday night, rising river levels breached our 8 ft compound wall, leading to significant flooding in our temple campus. Despite our usual resilience, the water levels surged rapidly, reaching 4.5 ft inside the temple and 10 ft outside.
Our dedicated team of 20 resident devotees worked tirelessly through the night to move vital items to safety, including deity paraphernalia, electronics, and kitchen supplies. Many items, including thousands of Bhagavad Gitas, were unfortunately damaged. The preliminary damage estimate is in the millions, but we are still assessing the full extent.
Thankfully, the deity seva continued uninterrupted, with the deities and important items safely moved to the first floor. Our efforts to restore power and water are ongoing, though water levels remain high and may rise further.
Despite the temple’s condition, we have continued our food distribution efforts for flood-affected victims, serving thousands of packets of prasadam from our Jagannath temple @Krishnalanka.
