Jesus never did away with the 10 commandments in the New Testament. In fact, He expanded them in the New Testament!
God’s Word doesn’t contradict itself and it’s important that we know His Word well!
These commandments are just as important now as they were when God gave them to Moses!
And it is thanks to the law that we know what sin is!
“Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20 NKJV.
John later wrote, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4 KJV.
And just because we have faith in God’s saving grace, it doesn’t mean that the law is abolished!
“Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”
Romans 3:31 NKJV
Because we have God’s saving grace, it gives us more reason to love and obey Him!
Jesus said in the New Testament, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15 NKJV.
Grace and His law are two terms that coexist! In the law we see our sin, and His grace saves us from sin!
“Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12 NKJV

I am a Christian who believes in keeping the Sabbath day holy.
“God knew that in our human tendency to further our own interests, we would need opportunities for spiritual growth, to refocus on things of eternal importance. The Sabbath is an opportunity to break away from the pressures of everyday living.”
- Emily Thomsen

“Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:”
Exodus 20:9-10 KJV

My name is Lily and I’ve created this channel to share the good news of Jesus with others and to better express myself. It can be really tough for me to share the gospel with strangers and to communicate sometimes (since I am shy), so I am using this channel to help get me out of my comfort zone.
Some things you can expect by subscribing to this channel are devotionals, Biblical topics (some controversial), encouragement and inspiration, and a bit of my personal life.
I hope this channel helps you draw near to God and gets you out of your comfort zone, too!
