So I messed up, somehow managed to not include an entire section in the even video that is supposed to come out Saturday. Fortunately it is an easy fix, and thanks to a combination of using a more modern software with DaVinci Resolve and the improved performance of my new 5060 what would have taken overnight to render will be done in about 30 minutes. Granted I still have to upload it which will take time, but I can get that going overnight a good 12 hours sooner.

So just finished rendering this year's IPMS San Diego video. Will start uploading it today so that it will ready to go live on Saturday. As you may have seen the shorts from the show are also live please do go check them out as well.

YouTube did it again!
This is seriously getting ridiculous with these Hate Speech strikes on historical content. I am at a complete loss on how to move forward with this. At this point if another video has issue with YouTube arbitrary and unjust content moderation system I will be moving that content exclusively to Rumble.

I am privatizing all shorts until further notice, since all the videos that thus far have been hit have been shorts. Hopefully that will stop any more hit from being applied as I just woke up to a third video being hit.

So surprise update, Youtube reverse the guideline strike and restored the video. Still have not gotten an exact reason, probably never will, but we are back in Youtube's good graces. I am however going to use the January break to finish backing up the channel onto a different platform as a precaution. With how many people seem to be getting hit by false positives from Youtube's moderation system I think its a good idea. Don't know if I can explicitly link to the site and not get in trouble, all I will say is that it starts with an R and is in my social links. Since because of the strike I did not do a end of year video I will instead combine it with the welcome back video. Look forward to that on 2/1.

Normally this would be the time that I would be posting the year end channel update video. However, because of the issue regarding the guideline warning I am hesitant to post anything out of fear that it could get a strike. As of today, 12/30/24, I still have not heard from Youtube regarding this issue. Was told someone would reach out but they have as of yet to do so. Given this is between Christmas and New Years I am giving the benefit of the doubt that is the reason why. If I still have not heard from anyone by the second week of January then we will have a problem. This is because this will be when I will need to start getting the next batch of videos uploaded, especially to make sure there is plenty of time for the automated system to look at them while they are held for release. This is the problem with Youtube's system as it is, there is almost not way to get help for issues like this. Plus from what I am reading on the issue it sounds like it is not an isolated thing, that their moderation for some reason got turned up to 11 and is issuing false positive strikes. So for now I am stuck in a hold until I get more information. We may have to delay coming back. Will post here when I get more information or some kind of guidance. Until then I wish everyone a Happy New Year.

So woke up to a Community Guideline Warning on one of my shorts, a BF110 kit from IPMS OC 2023. Tried appealing it up it was denied within a few seconds. Tried talking to the support chat but got no help there. Tried reaching out to Team Youtube on twitter and potentially got some help, but we will see.
To say I am now scared for my channel is an understatement. For them to flag and remove a video that has been live, without issue, for a year and a half is mind boggling. Now I have to worry that any content that I have posted in the last 15 years could result in my channel getting completely destroyed.

Small update with regards to the schedule. TLDR I messed up, and the video that came out last week was supposed to not come out until the 6th. This means that the next review will not come out until the 20th. If I was not short on review videos as is I would shoot an additional video to make up for this, but I do not want to burn through a video to make sure we have videos for early next year.
