The British Judo Council promotes traditional Kodakan Judo within the UK for (in the words of Jigoro Kano) "Mutual Welfare and Benefit". Through seeking to inculcate our members into the virtues of discipline, concentration, study and practice we seek to not only create fine members who are skilled in Judo but also better people who are of use and benefit to each other and society at large. It is through these values that we all benefit and improve as we seek through our Judo practice to achieve higher goals, whether through grade, competition or the sheer enjoyment of the martial art.
