In a container, when thereās a force present, something thatās more dense than the medium that surrounds it will appear to move in the opposite direction of the force due to inertia and something thatās less dense than the medium that surrounds it will get pushed in the same direction of the force due to buoyancy.
The fact that thereās no measurable force or effects of acceleration in free fall shows that the density and buoyancy motion vector on earth is up, not down.

Displacement = Reaction
Solids liquids and gas will always displace under conditions of acceleration due to inertia.
