Just a quick reminder if you missed it, I'll be in the USA for the next couple of weeks, if you'd like to come and say high I can be found at the following times and places:
-11th September: I will be curating the USNI 'Leyte at 80' Panel at Annapolis, you can register to view the livestream on the USNI website. Please note access to the base itself is restricted until you are registered with USN security.
-13th September: USS Cod, Cleveland, Ohio - I'll be there during the day and we're looking into some kind of evening meetup as well, email/DM me for details if you need them.
-15th September: USS Slater, Albany, New York State - I'll be there during the day and similarly we're looking at something in the evening as well. Of particular note, if the weather is good we'll be manning all the ships armament around 1300 to get a drone's eye view of what it's like to be tracked by an angry DE!
-17th to 19th September: USS Midway, San Diego, California - I'll be attended the HNSA conference nearby but if you want to come and say hi in the late afternoon or early evening then again email/DM me and I'll be happy to try and work something out.

So, we've managed to reach 500k subscribers! Over the next month there will be a series of mini events to celebrate, starting with your chance to affect the channel, specifically, the intro. Way back when the channel began longer intros were pretty much standard, nowadays very short or no intro is common. The intros for most videos are about 30 seconds long, so going forward... (if no clear winner the top two options will get another poll later in the month).

Roughly speaking the schedule looks like this:
14th - Fly to Oslo
15th - Oscarborg Fortress!
16th - Fly to Narvik
17th-18th - Narvik and nearby area
19th-20th - Fly to Oslo, bus to to Karlskroga
21st - Nobel Museum
22nd - Train to Gothenburg
23rd-25th - Fleet Museum, Gothenburg replica ship, Gothenburg City Museum, train to Karlskrona
26th - Maritime Museum Karlskrona
27th - Train to Stockholm
28th - Vaxholm Fortress
29th - Vasa Museum
30th - Gålöbasen
1st - Stockholm Maritime Museum
2nd - Ferry to Helsinki
3rd - Helsinki Museums (TBC)
4th - Home

Drydock Tours of USS New Jersey!
You probably know the ship reached drydock a few weeks ago, there are currently Drydock tours available at the Battleship New Jersey website: www.battleshipnewjersey.org/drydock/
You get to see an Iowa class battleship from a completely unique perspective, plus you get to keep your commemorative hard hat!
But wait, there's more! You can also get a tour on selected dates with the ships curator, Ryan, or, on the 25th and 26th of May, with me!
