I started this group as a consequence of feeling a bit lonely in my lifelong interest in philosophy and science, as well as my surprise that many people I knew in Cheltenham didn't really know what philosophy was. It's not taught in UK schools, nor is it obvious in the mainstream media anymore (long gone are the days when the likes of Bryan Magee would appear on BBC TV talking to, and about, great thinkers). So I decided to "do my bit" and try to help popularise this increasingly important subject/activity/way of life.
