Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all get some creative time and your off to a good start for the year. I’m looking forward to a fresh start now that I got through the two knee surgeries of 2023. I might even be able to treadle my looms again soon. Yay! This is one of my digital paintings that I’m contemplating doing some thread painting to for Art Journal covers. It’s a thought….lots of ideas running around in my head for the new year.

I'm working on these Little Wall Talisman, they are little mixed media paintings that have been embellished with my small tapestry weavings and beads etc. I can't seem to stop making them, they are addictive. I'm posting a short this evening of 3 of them that I have done. I drilled a hole and added a leather strap for them to hang by. I see them as a Little Talisman that you can hang in a special nook or your studio or perhaps on a mantel or an alter. They are 5" x 5" so I find that small art needs to be in a space where you can get up close to it to enjoy the details. Hope you are all doing well and getting some creative time for yourself during this busy Holiday Season.

A few pics of my studio and one of my cat helpers Nikko. The second pic is a clean work table. That is very rare. If the table is clean I'm not getting any work done. Right? My studio is very worked in, not like the beautiful spaces you see in "Where Woman Create". Of course those spaces are cleaned for the magazine but I often think what do they really look like when they are in the throws of making. I love seeing where artist create. Do you?

Art Journals have become my passion. I'm a Mixed Media artist working with Art Journals, Paintings, Collages, Tapestry and other forms of Textile Design. I also love vintage sewing machines and have rescued and restored many. You can find my work in my Big Cartel shop. Also exploring some bag making recently and a new Industrial Sewing Machine is going to be added to the studio for Art Journals and Bag Making. So exciting!
