While people think showing vulnerability is a sign of weakness, Zoë Hinis believes otherwise, and her story just proves it right.
As a business owner, karate instructor, Youtuber and pregnant woman who’s going to raise another child, Zoë Hinis found it difficult to juggle a lot of hats which eventually led her to depression. But thanks to her supportive husband and coworkers, she has come to a realization that learning to reach out to and accept help from others is a lifelong lesson because no one wants to appear incompetent or weak.
“We all have the difficulty of being vulnerable. But nothing is more vulnerable than pregnancy. That’s what makes us beautiful and terrified at the same time,” says Zoe. By showing her vulnerability, despite the challenges she encountered, Zoe continues to claim her space as a brave, multifaceted woman. The karate instructor also shared tips on exercising during pregnancy, dealing with symptoms and more with one mission — to empower more pregnant women around the world.

With an English Literature degree, Aria wasn’t as confident when she first started off as a self-taught video producer in the industry where most people had previously studied in film schools. But that doesn’t stop her from pursuing her dream as she turned the fear into fuel that moves her forward.
She believes cinematography is more than capturing images and editing — just like writing, it’s a form of storytelling but in a visually pleasing way. While learning filmmaking on her own, Aria also applied all the skills such as critical thinking skills that gained as an English Literature student. “The fact that I am able to be innovative with my technical skills makes me really proud of who I am today,” says Aria.
