Hey folks, it's been a wee while.
Just wanted to give a bit of an update since I realized I've only done that on Twitter and Patreon. So if you follow me on either of those places you've already seen a brief version of this.
So, it's been 5 months. What the hell I've been doing? I'd love to say that I've been working on another grand project, but no. Right around the time I was wrapping up Patient Zero I got hired as a level designer, and that is the main reason for the silence.
Doing level design is great. I'm learning a lot, and I'm with a really awesome team. But doing this full time unfortunately doesn't leave me with a lot of free time to do personal projects. Being able to earn on YouTube by doing passion projects is a huge privilege, but at the same time it isn't the most stable of affairs. I've been extremely lucky so far, but the possibility is always there that a video (or the entire channel if they find 3 guideline violations within 90 days) will get nuked. Plus the constantly changing rules and state of this platform doesn't help if you want to make this your source of income. And apart from these, I never wanted to turn this into a business. I'm not gonna be the loudspeaker for a garbage mobile game or scam service, ask you to pretty please buy my merch, or make something shit, safe and easy for the sake of making money. I wanna improve, do things I wasn't able to do before, and have this channel stand as a collection of stuff I'm proud of. And that probably won't change any time soon.
So the bottom line is that I don't wanna stop making videos. Quite the opposite. It's just been moved to a side track currently for the sake of my sanity. There are stuff cooking in the background, just very, very slowly. I might upload again in 6 months or very soon because I'll get fired on Monday. Who knows.

Just a quick update. I'm currently working on a fairly ambitious project that I dare say overshadows everything I've done until now. Custom maps, models, particles, vocoders all that good stuff. On the flipside, this might turn out to be a release for 2023. I'm not confident I can wrap this up by the end of December and I sure won't rush it either. So yeah, a video is coming but it'll take some time.
If you're interested in the occasional teasers you're more likely to find them on my Twitter. Or hey, if you have disposable income that you shouldn't give to me, I post updates on the project every couple days over on Patreon. *ʷⁱⁿᵏ* *ʷⁱⁿᵏ*

I’m trying my best to have the more important stuff appear here as well, with more or less success so far.
One thing that’s definitely important is that I’ve embarked on a journey to make a movie/short film on the longer side. Currently I’m still at the script writing stage and creating assets that I know 100% will be needed to make it happen. I want to do this right, so I’m not going to rush it. Might take me a year or more, but it's coming.
In the meantime I’d like to put out other videos, maybe (most probably) not as frequently (if you count 0.75/month frequent) as before but still. It’ll be a good balance of not disappearing for another year and keeping me sane during the production of the big guy.
A little teaser from the many WIP assets in the making, and I’ll see you all with the next video, probably early next month.

Hey hey,
A new video has been in the works for a couple weeks now and I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna scrap this one so here's a little preview.
It's going to be a bit of a departure in format from my previous stuff, but I hope you'll enjoy it regardless of that. There's still much to animate on this project, but the sound design and post production work shouldn't take nearly as long as it usually does.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for the overwhelmingly positive feedback on Protectors. Love seeing your comments picking up on the minute little details I sprinkle here and there. Trying my best to read all of them and answer any questions you have. I truly have a blessed audience.
On another note, I'm very happy to say that I'm now part of the Project 17 development team! Can't wait to learn new things about the Source 2 engine and improve my own projects with that.
Next video will most likely be another scenebuild like my Kleiner Speech one. Bit of a wind down after this monster, and in the meantime, I'll be thinking on a new short. Might be a while, might not. As always, I don't wanna make something for the sake of making something.

All I ask is that you provide a link back to the channel or the video(s) you used. In any other cases, or if you haven't credited the source material, I will request a video takedown.
