I cannot believe after the season that I've had that I'm writing this. I have qualified for the INDYCAR Buttkicker iRacing Pro Series. We scratched and clawed for this and we have finished P33 in the standings, the last car to make it into the show. Like I've written here before, I can't explain to you why I wanted to do this or how it was rational in anyway. I wanted it badly, and with a little fortune, we've got it. Jacob has also qualified and had been assured of a place in the pro series for at least the past two weeks. Brandon is in as well, and it's just so cool that the two of us will both be in the pro series given that we go all the way back to 2012 as teammates.

I want to say thank you to everyone who left messages of support because it was quite the struggle to make it in. This channel in some way will provide you coverage of us in the pro series, what exactly that will entail I haven't quite decided, but you will see something for sure. And those Pimax logos you see? Stay tuned regarding that.

It's a landslide! The community race vote winner was NASCAR Multiclass at MONZA RIGHT TURNING OVAL. I'm going to tell you right now if you join this race expecting a good race you should immediately lower your expectations to the Mariana Trench. The race will take place on Wednesday September 4th with the session opening at 7:00 PM CDT. The password will be distributed in our Discord at session launch. discord.gg/x5VrV85

Indycar Pro Qualifying was at Road America on Thursday night. The screenshot of my car careening towards the wall speaks for itself. How I only escaped with minor wing damage is beyond my understanding. The finish was a terrible result with the time I put in. Nevertheless, we are currently P34 with one week left. Using our own math to account for the drop week that has not been calculated on iRacing, we are P32. The top thirty three qualify. I enter the last week with a shot which is all I can ask for. Brandon and Jacob, barring a catastrophic event, have qualified for the pro series.

Team I5G, which social media and content wise I'm 100% responsible for, was never founded to be a professional outfit. The rest of the team is why I'm good on track and sometimes I feel I don't even deserve them as teammates. It's truly not even rational for me to qualify or partake in a pro series. I'll never get any money for results on track. What most of you don't know is that I'm an incredibly competitive person. I can't even explain why to anyone why I want to qualify, I just want this, and I think we can do it. I'm just happy that you will see at least one Team I5G car on the grid because Jacob was worked his ass of for it. Let's hope for the best at Mid-Ohio next week.

We finished P8 last night in Indycar Pro Qualifying at Gateway. We gained three spots in the last stint by making passes on the outside in turns three and four on on three drivers who are or were pro series drivers while hitting a fuel number at the same time. P11 to P8 was a thirty point swing and that put me P31 in points with two weeks remaining. The top 33 makes it in. Without that 30 point swing, we would be P33 or P34 on the outside looking in. Jacob and Brandon look set to qualify without any issues, but it will come down to the wire for me. The team has kept me focused and stayed positive when at times I've catastrophized. There are many good drivers behind us, and they can make up good points and perhaps surpass us, but it seems we can control our own destiny to get in.

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who left messages about the post I made regarding the community race. It seems there wasn't much I needed to worry about after all and your positive messages were really nice. A post with community race nominations will be put up this weekend!

Hey everyone. I wanted to let you know for a variety of reasons I do not anticipate being able to make a ā€œtraditionalā€ video of our community race during week 13 on iRacing. I still would love to race with you guys in a community voted race, but it will be easier for me if itā€™s just a POV style video for reasons I go into detail below. Itā€™s not an easy decision because I really loved driving in the last one. Weā€™re in the final stages of Indycar Pro Series qualifying, and whether I make it or not, I committed myself to running the full season just to see what happens. I still currently have an opportunity to make it in and I donā€™t want to think about the ā€œwhat ifā€ if I never tried. Iā€™ll also be going to the Indycar race at the Milwaukee Mile which is going to be on Labor Day weekend and I donā€™t anticipate being home until a few days after Labor Day.

Along with other things Iā€™m busy with, having to do a video like I sometimes feel people expect just doesnā€™t seem like it will be possible. In all honesty, sometimes I havenā€™t looked forward to doing those ARCA Brake Weekly style videos because it is a lot of work, and Iā€™d stress about it by procrastinating. Maybe I kept going because Iā€™m afraid to disappoint people, but I donā€™t want it to become unhealthy for myself. Sometimes itā€™s been hard to make any videos period, and I donā€™t upload as much as I used to (at least it feels to me I donā€™t). Thereā€™s a lot of things Iā€™ve said I would do for videos and then it just never happens for differing reasons. I feel bad about that, because the success of everything Iā€™ve accomplished has been because of this channel and because you have chosen to watch. I still enjoy making content here and will continue to do so, and I have something Iā€™m very excited for in September.

With that in mind, let me know what you all think of this, and I hope you understand where Iā€™m coming from, and would love to make a post soon taking nominations with this in mind. Thank you for your continuing support over the years.

It's been awhile since I've updated you about the team so I wanted to share some exciting news. If you follow us elsewhere, you will know we have new paint schemes. After almost five years with the last one, we felt it was time for something new and we are in love with it. In recent weeks, pro series qualifying has begun. The top 33 in the championship standings will go on to the iRacing Indycar Pro Series. After two rounds, one of us surely will be in and there's every reason to have cautious optimism for the rest. Some of our friends under the original I5G umbrella, now elsewhere, I also feel will also make it. Those jokes we shared about how "I earned 100 bucks from this league, this is high stakes!" and "This is cash man! This is my job!" five years ago are now more hilarious in hindsight.

I am also attempting to qualify. It will not be easy for me, and being in third split on road/street courses, a lot of things will be out of my hands. I know full well my 3.9k road iRating ass will get obliterated by the professionals, but I've had friends, other drivers, viewers, and followers all give me encouragement and there's no reason not to try. Thankfully, there are two oval rounds, of which the last one I was top split with a decent points haul. Along with my mindset and composure, I believe this gives me a path forward for my dark horse run for the pro series.

I will post more updates here and me and the team's social media (hyperstar.racing/ takes you to my socials). I plan on doing a Formula 1 style season review video of this qualifying series upon its completion. If I'm in try hard mode with my driving, the video is going to be anything but that. Expect deadpan humor and sarcasm, this channel is still the home of ARCA Brake Weekly after all.

I've been invited to participate in the MS Charity Race in collaboration with the National MS Society tonight! It features GT3s and Street Stocks at Oschersleben. The race will be broadcasted on iRacing's official channels starting at 8:00 PM EDT and I will be streaming it on my Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/brendanhyperstar). You may even see me on the broadcast (although I think I'm pretty low on the pecking order if Dale Jr, Tony Kanaan, TJ Majors, Chad Knaus are forced to share the grid with this irreverent clown here!) It's an honor and a privilege to be apart of this with some pretty big names in the world of racing to help an important cause. Depending how this goes, I'd love to make a highlights video for you all to see.
