Grae Violett (They/them) is a singer-songwriter and spoken word artist who blends dreamy vocals with 80s style synth-pop beats for a trippy alt-pop sound.
Born in Nashville but raised in Seattle by eclectic New Yorkers, they have a deep appreciation for the human experience. Growing up both Black and Queer, she noticed a lack of representation for people at the intersection of those communities. That weighed a lot on her, so she decided to become what she didn't always see. She hopes that people can experience her work and feel a sense of belonging.
When she's not making art herself, you can find her in many Seattle Arts spaces such a Totem Star and Youth Speaks Seattle. A proud youth board member of Totem Star and Spokes Intern at Youth Speaks Seattle, they're very passionate about making Arts spaces accessible for those often excluded. A music major at Cornish College of the Arts, you can find her around Seattle creating, collaborating, and drinking copious amounts of boba tea
