Since year 1978, FM Darko N. Dimitrijevic is the World's Best Blindfold Chess Performer. Darko held his last, 49th, Performance on April 23, 2010 in hotel Histria, Croatia.
In the pick of his power at the age of 23, will serving military in former Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia in 1982, he played 4 blindfold events: 8, 20, 12 and 20 during 12 months service. At that time his performance in all 4 events was perfect without any miscalculation.
So far, Darko played 16 double blindfold matches at the range from 2 to 6 boards. He won all 16 with 100% score.
Personally, Darko likes to play under much more difficult rules -- handicapped blindfold chess simultaneous - involving chess clocks, but this type of events involve more people in organization and during the time of play.
While blindfold chess has been recommended in moderation by many sources as a method of increasing one's playing strength, simultaneous blindfold exhibitions were officially banned in 1930 in the USSR
