CSEAS is a National Resource Center (NRC) for the study of Southeast Asia in the United States as funded by the US Department of Education. The Center serves as a coordinating body for the study of Southeast Asia throughout the University of Hawaiʻi. With access to more than 50 faculty resource people distributed through 21 departments, the Center works with the largest concentration of Southeast Asia specialists in the United States. More than 80 language and area studies courses are regularly offered each semester, with particular strengths in the humanities and social sciences.
