10 years ago today, at this very time, Horrible Histories S5E09 aired on the CBBC channel, bringing us the truly iconic Henry VII song. Happy 10th birthday to the Henry the 7th song and a happy 25th (gulps) to me..!

If you haven't seen it already, Mat gave an unprecedented interview at the Oxford Union in November.
He discusses professional clowning, auditioning for Horrible Histories, GHOSTS, issues of race, access to the arts, and more. Highly recommend! It's available in full here:

Hello everyone, (this won't take long to read, I promise!)
If you didn't know (me neither, whoops), yesterday was 10 years to the day (16th April 2009) since the first episode of Horrible Histories aired on CBBC. That's ten years since Mat, Ben, Jim, Martha, Laurence and Simon blessed our tv screens and gave me some of my greatest childhood memories. I won't bore you with the details but undoubtedly, Horrible Histories was *the* cause of a brief, yet, euphoric period of my school career, which drove me to achieve an A* in gcse History and better grades all round. The link between the two might sound tenuous, but when you have something like that to capture your imagination and lift your spirits, it really can make a vast difference to your motivation and self-esteem.
I am deeply grateful that this show came along as it has given me some lovely memories, despite a time when I was suffering from overwhelming social rejection, bullying and crippling loneliness at school. It was awful. Feeling a part of something like the Horrible Histories fandom essentially rescued my crumbling self-esteem; it gave me something to actually look forward to on a weekly basis - like, wow! I couldn't help but get a bit emotional last night when Mat and Jim were tweeting about the anniversary; I'm trying to bear in mind that I should instead be glad that it happened - and I am. So cheers to 10 YEARS OF HORRIBLE HISTORIES!
One last thing: I have *finally* done a bit of a spring-clean of all the description boxes and titles for all my Horrible Histories uploads. They are now standardised with links to all the cast members' social media accounts, and my own. Go check them out!

A sheer love of Horrible Histories (2009-2013) and its talented cast is what gave rise to this channel in 2011. Thanks to you, I'm still alive, channel-wise, and will always be here to celebrate the creative talent behind the iconic award-winning sketch show.
I haven't uploaded for a while but remain active in the comments; subscribe to know when I post something new :)
