The festival season is gently dimming its lights⦠but not before we bring them home:
On August 22, another epic Open Air at āā Kunstfest Weimar and August 23, Fenster zum Hof Mainz will close this beautiful chapter: one last swell, two final glows.āØ
This carousel holds moments painted in light, every flicker shaped by Robert Krƶber ā my partner in this dance ā flowing with the musicās every unpredictable turn, all captured through the lens of Maximilian Hertwig at Hafensommer Würzburg last week.

Iāve only hinted at it so far ā but now itās time to say it loud and clear: for the special open-air concert in my hometown Weimar on August 22nd, some very special guests will be joining me.
This idea has been floating around in my head for a long time: Iāll be performing together with three drummers. And now, that bold idea is finally becoming reality. Iāve found the perfect people to join me on this journey, and I honestly couldnāt be more excited to share the stage with these three amazing musicians.
Aline Patschke has been studying drums at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig since 2020. As both a composer and drummer, she creates her own music and performs in a variety of bands, solo projects, and theater productions.
Dave Daniel Bƶnsch studied drums at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar. Heās a drummer, percussionist, and bassist, active in a wide range of projects spanning electronic music, pop, and funk.
Michael Nahler has been a steady presence in the local electronic scene for over 20 years. In addition to playing all kinds of traditional hand drums, he specializes in electronic percussion.
Dave and Michael have been part of my musical life for what feels like forever ā weāve played together in all kinds of projects, going back as far as 15 years. Together with Aline, weāre just getting started with rehearsals and exploring where this collaboration can go ā and with each session, the excitement keeps building. I canāt wait to make it happen. š„š„š„

Playing āŖ@jazzopen⬠last night ā alongside āŖ@jeanmicheljarre⬠and in the company of artists like āŖ@lionelrichie⬠, āŖ@ItsMyRayeRaye⬠, āŖ@jacobcollier⬠and āŖ@Kraftwerk⬠ā was something else.
After ten years of carving out this little path, it quietly hit me: maybe this thing Iāve been building has found its place.
Thank you, Jazz Open crew and Jean-Michel for the trust and everyone out there who shared this incredible moment.
Iām truly moved. š«§

The last days of this tour were a dream. Munich, Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Nürnberg and as the grand finale, two unforgettable days in Switzerland. Iām still taking it all in. Iām deeply grateful ā to my incredible crew, to everyone who came, supported, felt something. You made this journey unforgettable.
Now itās time for a little pause. Easter with the family. Heart full. Soul tired. But in the best way.

Austria, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly mean a lot to me, not just because of the dynamic mentalities in Vienna, Linz, Graz, and Salzburg and the unique vibes during my performances, but also for the many personal moments and the chance to connect with so many people and friends over the tour. š¤
A big thanks to Wiener Konzerthaus, Orpheum Graz, Szene Salzburg and Posthof Linz for making everything run so smoothly. Itās incredible to see how the audience has even doubled since my last visit. Iām already looking forward to coming back next year and canāt wait to see you all again.

Martin Kohlstedt is among the outstanding composers, pianists and producers for instrumental music and electronica. His past albums and their respective reworks were rewarded with international recognition and concert tours throughout the whole world.
With his live performances as well as his studio recordings Martin Kohlstedt sets standards on how cutting edge electronica production can intermingle with analogue and acoustic approaches ranging from classical piano and ambient to field recordings and score design in an effortless way. Kohlstedt intuitively combines inspirations and influences from fundamentally different worlds and soundscapes into a unique musical amalgam and forms it into something that feels more like a living body than a list of pieces ā be it in form of a spectacular festival show, an introspective piano concert, a multidimensional movie score or an immersive album experience.
