Update on the Etsy store:
This summer I was very busy with home renovations, but now I have time for the store again :) I have decided to be low key about it, I will collect and process a bit extra, not just for my own mice, and offer it for sale. I am learning Procreate right now, by spring I should also have some mousy artwork available. All the natural products I give to my mice as well, and they love them :)
In the next few days I will feature every CreekValleyCritters Etsy product on my Instagram account and here on YouTube. If you want to buy, here is the link: etsy.com/ca/shop/CreekValleyCritters .
The first item is Yukon wild wood. My mice love their terrarium wood, it is super for chewing and keeping their teeth in good condition, climbing on and hiding in. It is also makes any mouse home more interesting and beautiful. I can't imagine being without it.
The wood I sell I collect from forest floors, where it has been nicely aged by years of sun, rain, snow and cold Yukon winters. I then cut it to length (around 12 to 14 inches) wash it thoroughly, dry it, bake it and package it in sealed plastic bags to keep it clean and parasite free. There are 3 to 6 pieces per package depending on size. It is a very safe product, although you have to take care to position it securely so it does not shift and that mice cannot dig under it. In my opinion this is as necessary for keeping pet mice as food and water. Not everyone will have access to wild wood or be able to process it themselves, but now you can buy it on Etsy :)
There will eventually be more videos, just so super busy with other things in the moment...

I have not been uploading much in the last little while because I am super busy building new mouse cages and setting up a mousy Esty store. I have not disappeared, just have to make the best of our incredibly short Yukon summer. Once the new mouse stables are complete, filming the mice will be even more fun :)

I have so many gingers now, in varying shades, that I could call my mousery 'the Weasleys' lol

Archie begging for free run. He is a wonderful mouse, so smart and interactive and so handsome, he is a real little furperson :)

This is Skywalker, a proud, wild Yukon stallion. He is not a mouse, sorry, but I am diverging a little from mice in the moment. Three months of lock down and summer finally here, I just want to be outside and enjoy it to the max. Finding and filming wild horses is the perfect pandemic pastime :) There will be more mouse stuff to come, so don't worry, but I am interested in a lot of things and really want to give myself a treat with these horses. I have started a Facebook group all about our adventures with wild horses this summer for anyone who might be interested, ://www.facebook.com/groups/269240104323380/ and there may even be some YouTube videos coming later on.

Midas in the cabin with Summer's babies, a really cute (and funny) video will be coming soon :)
Also, for those of you who are interested, I have set up an Amazon store so people can see what products I like when it comes to caring for my mice. It might be helpful for those just getting into mice and those who already have them. Even if you do not buy, it will give you ideas. This is an Amazon.com store, meaning it is based in the US. If you live outside of the US, you may need to look up the products at the Amazon online store specifically for your country. I usually order from Amazon.ca, the Canadian version. They are much more likely to ship to the Yukon. Hope you find this useful: www.amazon.com/shop/creekvalleycritters .

CreekValleyCritters is all about showing the world who animals truly are. The main animal of this channel is the domesticated mouse. Mice are a very misunderstood species and my channel seeks to change how people view them, to show the world just how magical and amazing they really are. Mice are a baseline mammal and if people can learn how to respect them, then they will see all animals in a different light.
I am interested in a lot of things, so this channel is not just about mice. I live in the Yukon, one of the wildest and most beautiful places in the world. There is so much to film here, so many stories to tell, ranging from fantastic scenery, water fowl, elk and even wild horses. I am also an artist and interested in paleobiology, so once in a while you will see a video along these lines too.
CreekValleyCritters is all about living life to the fullest, being endlessly curious and never losing that sense of wonder.
