Happy New Year my dear Youtube friends! Check out this live studio performance of Cardinal Red we shot at the famous Sony Circle Studios in Berlin.
This video and a lot of other material was shot at the very end of our European tour in 2023. We were all quite exhausted to say the least, but we still didn't sound all too bad. What do you guys think? Some more in studio material coming up soon, I hope you guys will enjoy it when it comes out!

Hi guys, with Nefarious out today, I want to share a story with you all about how Patreon has completely changed the way I work.
Ever since I got out of Music college and into the music industry I discovered that I had a serious passion for teaching bass, composition and music theory. This passion mainly started out of a frustration for the institution that is jazz school and the way things are taught at the particular college I went to.
The school I went to very much adhered to learning music in a way where things are black or white, right or wrong. These are concepts I do not believe in at all when it comes to the way I approach music and how I teach it.
I teach my lessons always rooted firmly in what a student is currently interested in, what makes them tick musically and what they want to expand on, not what I think a bass player/musician/composer should be minimally required to know or do.
Every player has a unique voice that is crafted by whatever it is that they themselves gravitate towards, usually guided by their own surroundings and frame of reference. Telling someone how exactly they should hone their craft really is counterproductive when someone is trying to form their own musical identity. To me it is really about making a student better at their own chosen goals and follow those rabbit holes as far as they go, with traditional theory and solfege in the back of my thoughts, not at the forefront.
Since I started teaching lessons on Patreon, the process of teaching online has become exponentially more productive. Students can now use the patreon messenger to communicate about their process and questions they have between lessons, while the frequency of lessons can easily be chosen by selecting a lesson tier that works best. This platform has helped me so much staying connected with students, tracking their progress and taking their playing to the next level in a way that I just wasn't able to do when I was teaching separate lessons away from Patreon.
I want to thank everyone on here taking lessons very much for also keeping me inspired to teach more than I've ever been. You are all a total joy to work with and since last week I am now officially teaching more than half of my total lessons on here than away from this platform.
Stoked to stay in touch with you all whether I'm home or on the road and thank you all again for being here, let's keep growing together!

Legend playthrough is live! Watch me play a tapping part so I can hopefully never do it again for the rest of my bass playing days 👌🏻🤪

Crazy to finally release this track. I recorded bass for our album in my room a year and 11 months ago. Videos were filmed over the course of february of 2022 and edited in the following months. There's many more videos coming for this record, but Legend is one I'm particularly proud of.
Legend was shot over the course of 3 cold days in upstate New York. We must have been on set for about 18 hours a day. Sleep wasn't really had, but it was so satisfying to get this thing done all by ourselves. Set design, building up, tearing down, filming, editing, it was all done by the band without any outside help. I hope you guys will enjoy the fruits of our labor as much as we enjoyed creating this thing. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Bonus question: I am one of the masked characters in the video. Guess which one I am 👀
