‘Lustre’ is finally out 😭😭 I remember being at the base of this mountain with no music written, when it was just a few ideas of what it might sound like, and now here we are, my third studio album, released into the wild. Hey gang,
I have some piping hot new content to fill your hungry content bellies over the coming weeks. With all the COVID lockdown craziness going on over the last year and a bit, I haven’t been able to do any shows and operate like I usually would. In light of this, I’ve made some in-studio live performances of some album tracks for you.
I released my last album C()D3X in March 2020 just as the pandemic hit and we tried to book a tour but had to reschedule the shows and eventually cancel them. During the time I was supposed to be touring, I received some support from Arts Queensland to adapt my usual activities to a digital format. This has allowed me to self-film a few live performances of songs from C()D3X. I’ve reworked them to be more stripped back and filmed them at my home studio in Brisbane.
It’s definitely not the same as touring and sharing the live show experience with you all, and I really hope that I can be doing some proper shows soon, but for now I wanted to bring some live performances to you from my studio which I hope you enjoy.
First cab off the rank is this performance of P()L4R which I stripped back to just the upright piano and my vocal. The fun part of this was trying to work out a piano part to replace the synth riff. Also, I added a new chord in the chorus to give a slightly different emotional quality which I thought felt nice. Hope you like it!
