A SACRED DAY FOR AMERICA
Memorial Day is a sacred day for America, dedicated to all those who have served this country and passed from us. And it’s dedicated to all those who gave their lives securing our freedom. So, we pause with great pride and deep gratitude for their courage, for their immense sacrifices on the altar of freedom.

HI FRIENDS! We apologize to those of you who viewed our latest video today, 05/04/2024, 'Shop with Us at Duluth Antique Marketplace'. I had to CANCEL it and start over again, after nearly 100 views. Needless to say, I've had a very exasperating day trying to get it posted. We unfortunately were trying to video there with lots of radio music playing in the background and therefore ended up with copyright notices. I've remade and uploaded this video 5 times now today because mistakes were made by me, too, just trying to fix everything. It takes a long time to create the MP4 video file and then a longer time to upload it to YT, especially an hour movie. Thank you so much for your kind support and messages, and thanks, too, for reading my long additional message below. It's been a difficult day.

I'm still experiencing much anxiety this late afternoon after we barely missed being in a 6-car pileup on the freeway near our home. We were the 7th car and Norm had to brake harder than ever in our lifetime, and only missed the 6th car rear by a foot! It was a miracle. We were certain that we would still be rear-ended and pushed into the car in front of us. Because we missed being involved, we got out of the lane and left ASAP. (Unfortunately, our car camera has not been working for awhile.) There was debris all over. From what we witnessed when leaving and getting out of the way, all involved cars were able to pull off the highway, so we pray that no one was seriously hurt. This happened at 2:30 pm and over an hour later on our way back home, we filmed the troopers and half the cars still there with tow trucks. The Lord has always protected us with His Guardian Angels. We pray to Him before driving anywhere! I couldn't thank Norm enough for his amazing driving and quick response despite his recent surgery! Our brand new tires this month just lost some tread already! May you always have your Guardian Angel protecting you and yours too.

We are wishing all of you dear moms a very happy and blessed Mother's Day with loved ones next Sunday!

Many Hugs!
Peg & Norm too

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you lovely ladies! May God bless you richly in the year ahead for all you do for your family and others.

Thank you so much for your very sweet and loving messages to us each week and your wonderful support. We are so blessed by you and extremely happy to have reach 8,000 subscribers just last month!

Forgive me for mentioning this here, but I wanted to let you know that I am posting a kitchen and dining room spring video this afternoon, and I was disappointed that there are sections of background noise that I hope won't bother you too much. First of all, it was pouring out at times, and I also forgot to turn off our refrigerator ;-( I always want the best viewing experience for you and sometimes I don't manage that. So please forgive my poor memory on this video. Thank you! ;-)

WE WISH YOU DEAR MOM'S A VERY BLESSED DAY WITH LOVED ONES!

Hugs,
Peggy Lou and Norm too!

HAPPY SPRING...no, APRIL FOOLS!!!

Hi Friends! Just wanted to share our beautiful 8 or so inches from last night's storm that started with rain, then hail, sleet and finally blizzard conditions! Ugh!! It is beautiful out there. We are very grateful that our city has power since many in MN lost theirs. We were hoping this would not happen while Norm is not allowed to be lifting for weeks. I have never used a snowblower, nor attempt to shovel anymore. We are hoping for the sun to melt much of it this weekend. We're praying for all who have been affected by the extreme weather. You are all a blessing us and we pray for your safety as well. Happy April, friends ;-)

HELLO FRIENDS! (Photo: Steve Pheasant hunting in SD)

Today we received a very kind comment from a viewer who watched Norm's video on my brother, Steve's, home 'Pre-Estate Sale' where Norm shared a lot of Steve's life and his love of hunting, fishing, etc. There are multitudes of folks who do not approve of hunting anything, or of owning guns. We respect that we all have different opinions on those two things. After responding to this comment, I wanted to share it here, since the majority of you have already viewed the video and sent your kind messages. I want you to understand my brother better. Again, thank you for your wonderful support and for reading the following:

"We'd like to say that Steve was a very generous person who was hunting deer on his friend's farmland in Iowa where they were so abundant that you could shoot them right out the window of his friend's home. All of the deer meat was processed and given away. I found this statement on the internet: "It is perfectly legal in Iowa to party hunt. In Iowa as long as someone in your hunting party has a buck tag, any licensed hunter (non resident included) in the party can fill the tag. But the rule applies only during gun season." In 2020 the Whitetail deer population was estimated to be 445,000.

Steve hunted pheasants for many years in South Dakota in prairies that he helped to keep open and available for the habitat to survive. He paid dues through 'Pheasants Forever' as we pointed out. The birds were used for food.

Steve was a fisherman and brought bags of frozen crappies, bass and walleye to my parents that I remember enjoying for meals there. I know that he shared with all his friends and neighbors all the time.

He grew his own vegetables and flowers to share with all of us until he was no longer strong enough. We discovered he had containers of food in his fridge this past year from his friends/neighbors to help him eat something when he was weak.

When I was 9 years old and Steve was 14, he talked me into going hunting with him in a close-by patch of woods where he would hunt a Squirrel and a rabbit and brought it back home and actually prepared it to eat. He talked my mom and I into sampling both of them. He also prepared frog legs for us. It was our German grandmother who took him fishing as a child.

Steve loved animals and had a lot of respect for them and their habitat. The animals that he took, he shared. They were the kind that needed to be reduced in numbers or there would not be enough food for them. The DNR decides every year how many animals, birds and fish can be harvested. Steve did not hunt exotic animals. He loved wildlife and his house was full of pictures depicting them in their habitat.

Regarding his gun ownership, he was a collector of antique military items of all kinds. His saddles dated back to the Indian Wars. He would sell at military and gun shows, as well as buy items that needed restoration that he could do in his retirement. I can't agree on the idea of detesting guns. There would be nothing left of Ukraine right now if other countries were not supplying them with more and better weapons to defend themselves against this evil attack.

I hope this helps you understand my brother better. Thanks again for your support. Sincerely, Peggy"

HELLO FRIENDS & FAMILY!

Norm and I want to THANK YOU so much for watching our latest video by Norm showing Steve's house in the process of being staged. It didn't look very organized yet, but we needed to get the video done to share with you early, and hopefully also post it where the staging company will advertise. Thank you all for your very thoughtful messages, your condolences, and prayer support for the sale and our healing. It was difficult for me to work on the video without being emotional, of course.

I'm sharing a photo of my latest decorating change to our living room. Steve gave us these beautiful MCM brass and teak, HUGE 21"L Mallard plaques a few months ago, and we love them. Tags say: 'Made by Masketeers, W. Virginia.' I had to do a lot of thinking about where they would shine the most. I am thrilled that Norm agreed to move our large starburst clock to another awesome place in the living room that you will see soon!

Thank you again for your patience waiting for other fun antiquing videos. We have not had much time for travel. Your kind messages are greatly appreciated. Sending you our love and wishes for a very blessed spring and Eastertide.

Peggy Lou
and Norm too
