January 28 | Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas
Give us, O Lord, a steadfast heart,
which no unworthy affection may drag downwards;
give us an unconquered heart,
which no tribulation can wear out;
give us an upright heart,
which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside.
Bestow upon us also,
O Lord our God, understanding to know you,
diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you,
and a faithfulness that may finally embrace you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The University, through the Office of the Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs, joins the Catholic
Church in the annual observance of Red Wednesday on 29 November 2023 with the theme âEmbracing Persecuted, Oppressed, and Christians in Need.â
While the bells toll and the faithful on-campus pause in prayerful silence at 6:00 pm, the UST Main Building, the Arch of the Centuries, and the Martyrâs Monument (Carillon Bells) will be lit
in red to remind us that behind the grim reality of religious persecution lies the redemptive value of all suffering when borne in union with the Lordâs cross.
May we remember and honor our persecuted brothers and sisters through our prayers for them.
