The reason why I couldn't continue to the next connecting flight from SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil to Asuncion, Paraguay was because I had a problem with my visa. My visa expired the day before. When we arrived at Brazil airport it was August 25, the following day. We thought that it would expire within 90 days. Apparently, I was supposed to use the visa within 30 days after it was created. It seems strange, especially that the expiration date was set to the day of departure, and therefore there was no room for any delay, but it happened. If our first flight had not been cancelled we would have been able to pass and continue the last connecting flight. It was a tough day as I had a crying daughter in my arms as she was sad that we couldnât join the rest of the family members and she wanted to go with them. I felt dejected yet positive knowing that there was no problem that had no solution. God almighty was with us that day. It was difficult but manageable. As there were no benches around the departure lounge. I was squatting down on the base of some signboard and tried to put my daughter at ease. A few minutes later she slept and we waited for what was to happen next. I observed one of the gate agents who didnât let me board. She had black wavy hair and skin that had a golden olive shade. She kept calling someone and discussed the situation. After about an hour she called us to follow her to the second floor where we talked with one of the staff of Lufthansa airlines. Then, he took us to the immigration and tried to help us in order to exit the airport and enter Sao Paulo but we couldnât as we didnât have a yellow fever vaccine. Thatâs good because we had no business going anywhere other than Asuncion, not to mention that Sao Paulo is located 34 km from the Paraguayan consulate, and thatâs the only place where we thought we could go if we exited the airport . Meanwhile my husband called the Paraguayan embassy in Berlin where we got my visa, but they were helpless. Another Brazilian lady agent told us that Lufthansa would book us a hotel room while we were waiting for the solution. She was so kind and helped us to carry some of my things. We checked in and had lunch after. We were glad that they treated us very well and we rested about a few hours before having dinner at 6pm. We spent time strolling around the airport and had fun with our daughter in the baby room in the hotel. At half past eight a lady staff of Lufthansa looked for us in the hotel and brought us the good news. She called the immigration in Paraguay and explained the situation. They extended my entry visa and asked us if it would be fine for us to fly to Asuncion at 10 pm. We accepted the offer and we left the same day. We arrived in Paraguay around midnight but our suitcases did not arrive, and the airport attendant assured us that they would be sent to us when they are found. My husband ordered Uber and we finally arrived at our apartment, exhausted and happy. A few days later they delivered the suitcases to our home and I noticed my suitcase was forcedly opened. I had no idea what the reason was and they didnât tell us or leave any notes but there was nothing missing from my suitcase.

In the morning after having our breakfast and packing all the food we needed for the trip my husband went outside to the car and loaded the things we wanted to bring. Meanwhile, I was sitting in the driver seat and looking up at the sky, the weather was agreeable and the cyan sky was convincing us to drive away from the city. My husband searched his phone and after a short while he chose the place to go. Spontaneously he has chosen a town lying at the foot of the Giant Mountains and their highest peak, ĹnieĹźka. At ten minutes to nine we left home and headed to the town called Karpacz. In the beginning we were supposed to visit another house of his parents somewhere in the village but we thought that it would be boring to spend time in the house. On a busy main road we had a good time with cups of coffee, listening to our favourite songs and the gentle rocking movement of the car made our daughter drowsy. Soon after she nodded off on her baby seat. All the while when nobody needed my attention I gingerly took out a book from my bag. It had a long rugged black strap, a twin eagle emblem and a single clasp. I sat next to my husband and our daughter was on my side. When I was about to read the next page of my book, Presumed Innocent by Scott Turrow, the time was about 10 am. The plot was exciting and I still didnât guess who the perpetrator was and I couldnât put it down. The only thing that I didnât like were the frequent curse words used by the cops.
The road was not congested on our way to the small town and before we got inside the hamlet we saw a big nest at the top of an electric pole. There was a white stork couple strengthening their bond through intricate communication. It was a quick viewing while taking footage and photographs at their breeding ground. Next, we curiously got inside a small backyard shared by a couple of households that we were unsure about. There was no sign board that could stop us from entering. It seemed as if we were entering a private property and the entryway round arch was quite old with faded antique bricks which added character to the wall. The next thing we saw was a toupe rooster with a short tail, and bulky saddle feathers. It had a nice rosy red comb and two thin wattles that hung under its beak. The weather was balmy and the warm sunshine put us in a good mood along with a tree that had white flowers and with the appearance of the historic building that was awe-inspiring, and with a nice touch of white stain. Through the right window of the car I saw a lady walking with her wooden crane and two men smoking nearby. A little bit further down the road there were old trucks, human statues and a red tractor next to a pine tree. After a few minutes we halted for a while and ate our light meal on the verge of the village. As we continued the road trip, we saw a man using a tractor mounted boom sprayer to distribute pesticides. At ten to one pm my husband spotted a sign indicating that there was a castle nearby. We decided to embark on a new journey and contemplated BolkĂłw castle. Our predilection for historic strongholds here began. We didnât think twice before we diverged and headed where the sign pointed and after a couple of minutes we were in the parking lot. When we were about to take a stroll to the castle there was a guy who was filming while stepping down on the sloppy walkway. On the sidewalk there was armour beside the bench where I sat with my daughter. Meanwhile my husband was chin-wagging with the man about cameras. After a while we walked up to the outer ward of the castle and I came after my beloved spouse and daughter. I found them unwinding on the freshly mown grass and I joined them. We spent about an hour hanging on the ground and relishing the pleasantly sweet smell of Bermuda grass. My daughter was perky, sprinting around back and forth towards me. She was keen to see the tower for the first time in person and the large lawn made her merry. Her inquisitiveness to scrutinising people who were passing by the entrance kept her from being tranquil. After some time we came close to the outer curtain wall and I carried her to see the view from the top. We could see department stores, parking lots, manor houses, tall trees and some other things. A quarter past two in the afternoon we were descending back to the parking lot. A road verge was a sight to behold, with some trees with pink flowers and shrubs bursting with life. The feeling of the sun and the slight breeze was invigorating, helping to fuel us for the afternoon jaunt to get the car started and hit the trail. After seeing a black cat sprinting towards the backside of the car and we left the town contentedly. We took the shortest route and went off to the Karkonosze mountains. Before getting on to reach the final destination we decided to stop over at one of the unanticipated places where the bayou was. It was visible on the right side of the road and my husband slowly drove his car on the muddy terrain. After another five minutes of driving we got out of the car and strolled down the narrow path as it was better to walk. I stepped on the waterlogged soil as I wasnât heeding to the ground and I sprang fleetingly on the sun-baked mud. At a distance I wiped off the filthy shoes on the bluegrass while looking up at the towering trees whose branches swung blown by wind and their heads seemed to be touching the clouds. The trees had white patches of skin on its thin bodies and the sun glared out on their tiny leaves. When I came close to the water I first saw a pair of mute swans and a rainbow hammock attached to a tree. I was behind the tree filming and along the shore I saw two people hanging out holding hands and having a lovely chat. On the other side my spouse still held our daughter and she cradled on his hip. After some time he put her down and grabbed his camera out of his belt bag. He squatted down beside our little one and captured some photos of an old man standing in the water with his hands on his lower back. There were three newcomers coming towards us with their black dog. One of the ladies threw a stick into the water and the dog swam forward to get it and came back with pleasure. Meanwhile I was behind them. I caught a whiff of cigarette smoke from a man who stood by the edge of the shore with his cigar in his right hand. I patted my spouseâs back and whispered that we better go away. We immediately left the site cheerlessly. We continued our trip about nine to three and after thirty minutes we arrived in some place where we could see a man axing wood along the road and we parked the car on the opposite side. We crossed to explore the suburb where the linen shop was located. We walked around to check other stores and then we went inside the Linen shop and examined their products. They mostly had thick linen wear for men and women. It was quite expensive and I wasnât convinced to purchase any of them. We spent about a few minutes and finally went back to continue the journey to Karparcz. We reached there about four in the afternoon and as the sun poked its way through the clouds, it enveloped us in its warm embrace. We decided to dine in a pizza place and enjoyed our dinner in a lovely hour. Afterwards, we went up the hill town and had some dessert from the corner shop. After that, we strolled around to see the mountain from a distance as the sunset illuminated the buildings in swathes of gold. At half past five we decided to go back home and we arrived safe and sound.
âThe BolkĂłw castle
was built on a hill overlooking the water gap section of Nysa Szalona river valley. Its beginnings date to the second half of the 13th century. The Duke of Legnica, BolesĹaw Rogatka, also known as the Bald, was likely the founder, but shortly the castle became the property of dukes of Ĺwidnica (later Ĺwidnica and Jawor) â Bolko I and Bolko II, who ordered enlargement of the fortress. In the first half of the 16th century the castle was rebuilt and expanded towards outer walls with rounded bastions, but was abandoned in the 18th century. In the 19th century the ruins were made available to the visitors and a small museum was opened in 1900. Today the castle is among the most visited places of its kind in the Sudetes. Open-air events are being organised, including Castle Party â an annual meeting of fans of gothic music.
The ruins consist of a few parts. The most elevated part of the hill is occupied by the oldest section, from the 13th century. The defence tower, 25m high, projects sharply to the south. Below the upper castle the so-called large courtyard extends. In the south, between the upper castle and the outer walls, a large open area is located â the tournament courtyard. The Womenâs House, well preserved and with an exhibition inside, dates from the 16th century. At the same time the buildings around the courtyard were crowned by an attic, also added to the main tower. The tower itself is an excellent viewing point.â

Wlen was a spontaneously chosen destination that we picked on the morning of the day of our trip. We really love visiting some of the castles which are away from the city. We would like to enjoy our time here and make memories before we move out from Europe. Before we arrived at the Wlen castle we stopped in the canola field and had lunch. We spent about an hour enjoying nature, listening to those bees buzzing around the yellow flowers. We captured some photos of ourselves and our daughter was merry running around the field and I was chasing her. We would like to document our life while we were relishing the beauty of nature, visiting some mediaeval castles and passing by old picturesque villages. It was also great to have a cup of coffee while on the road trip. It kept us lively and I had wide open eyes to read a book before leaving the city. When we were entering Wlen castle the road was bumpy and it was hard to keep reading. The byway was small and there was a car behind us and it wanted to go first. We didnât want to hurry and we found a way to let him go onwards. The time we arrived was fifteen minutes to two. We parked the car where we could see some hens and roosters. We halted for a while and greeted those chickens.
While walking to the palace we met two old women who said the entrance ticket was a cup of coffee. We were animated and couldnât wait to dine in and see more of what was inside. When we were close to the entrance we could hear mellow music and vintage typewriters. What dulcet sounds while stepping up the stairs and listening to the soft music of different instruments. On the first floor we could see the painting and my daughter was exhilarated and she had expressed her excitement in her own language and her voice echoed. On the second floor we could see some more paintings, old art and three ladies and one guy were playing on instruments. There was a Polish guy wearing a red blazer who approached us and informed us that they were having a rehearsal for the final performance and at six in the afternoon they would start and there was a lantern event at eight in the evening. We couldnât wait and we decided to stay to experience entering the castle ruins with the lantern. First we went back to the 1st floor and on the right side was the coffee shop. We ordered two cups of coffee and one slice of cheesecake with a nice touch of pear. Our little daughter got some pierogies or dumplings. Afterwards, we went outside and enjoyed the view of the village. When it was one minute to six we went upstairs and we were getting ready to see them playing. Before it began, one of the ladies in a blue dress with black hair gave an address to the audience and when it came to silence my daughter said something in a cheering voice and everyone was looking at her with affiliative smiles. After some time we went outside to hang out in the garden with the glass house and we had fun exploring around. At eight in the evening we went up to see the castle. We took the wee path and it was slightly dim and the Ramsons or wild garlic had bright star-like flowers.
They gave us kerosene lanterns that had a distinctive smell. My little darling was gingerly pacing up the stairs all the way to the castle and she was delighted to see it. We spent time exploring around while we were waiting for the rest to bring the lanterns up to the castle. They came at half past eight and we waited patiently until they could let us get inside the castle. Eventually when we were inside, the ruin tower looked convincing enough for us to climb it. We made it to the top. The view was great and the dusk had beautiful shades of red, purple and yellow. We spent a few minutes hanging out and went back home late at eleven.
