My new album Milky Oily is out today on streaming services!
For me this one was a bit of a journey to put together, learning more about electronic music production, synthesizers, and 3D animation while writing the 9 songs. I aimed to make an album that touches on a variety of electronic sub-genres that I like, but also with some quirky synth melodies typical of my other mikeyeldey music.
The four music videos released can be found on this YouTube channel, and I'll be releasing a couple more visualizers that go with these songs. I also have a pile of outtakes left behind that I'll probably polish up one day.

My third mikeyeldey album 'Milky Oily' will be released on Friday, July 11! The lead single Frothy is out on streaming today.
Milky Oily marks my deepest foray into electronic music yet, compared to my previous mikeyeldey albums that focused on MIDI compositions and chiptune. This time around, I'm making use of software synthesizers, toying around with their parameters, and layering on effects. The album's 9 tracks are influenced by a variety of sub-genres like acid techno, drum and bass, progressive house, and chillout music.
At the same time, I took up 3D animation with Bryce Pro 7.1, a program developed around the millennium for rendering computer-generated landscapes and scenery. I used it to create a series of music videos that feature the mikeyeldey head flying around in surreal worlds. Stay tuned here to see these as they come out.
I am continuing to develop things for the Sega Genesis that I look forward to sharing in the future, but for now, hope you enjoy Milky Oily!

Way back on my 15th birthday, I posted a video of me playing Happy Birthday on the euphonium. I had learned the instrument days earlier and it really shows! Despite the poor playing and middling like/dislike ratio it has gone on to be one of the most enduring videos on my channel, racking up over 18,000 views.
Now that I'm 30, I figure this "franchise" is due for a sequel - here is Happy Birthday 2!!
