Imagine Andros being captured by Dark Specter and the team only has his morpher. Their only hope in getting through Dark Specter's defenses is by using Astronema's knowledge of the inside. After Astronema convinces the Rangers she is willing to help them to save her brother, she insists she needs a proper disguise. Astronema is trying to play double agent pretending to be Dark Spectre's loyal servant while helping the rangers. Thus, the rangers lent her Andros's morpher. And she morphs, foreshadowing her turn to good and becoming a Ranger in the next season.

After the events of In Space, Andros donated the blue prints of the Space Power Ranger to SPD Headquarters. There, SPD further developed their own teams of Power Rangers using different ranger designs from different seasons. SPD A Squad is just one of the many teams that have suit designs similar to existing teams. There may be a team for each season of Power Rangers suit designs we are familiar with. Imagine there is SPD Gamma Squad using Time Force designs.

Rangers Trivia: Psycho Green is the second Psycho Ranger to be able to kill Power Rangers, Psycho Pink being the first. Psycho Red can be counted for being also a counterpart of Mighty Morphin Red due to his Psycho Sword being based on the Power Sword, except he never fought a single Ranger, unlike both Green and Pink.

Power Rangers In Space trivia:
TJ, Cassie, Ashley, and Carlos are the final Power Rangers in the show's history (thus far) to gain a new power source after losing their previous ones. Not sure about Cosmic Fury since I haven't watched it yet.
Ironically, the next series that the rangers gain new powers is Megaforce's Megaranger, sharing the same name as the Japanese name of the series Power Rangers In Space is adapted from (Denzi Sentai Megaranger).
