Today on āŖ@humblemechanic2⬠we have the very much unfiltered VR5 rebuild. I always keep main channel PG, but if you work in a shop, you know PG is held for customers. Things get spicy back in the shop. Thats more the vibe this cut gets.
LMK what you think. it's kind of a test bed to see how you guys like the less edited less filtered videos.

I woke up to this insane milestone this morning. 1 million subscribers on @YouTube. It's absolutely wild to me. I never really set out for that. It kind of all started when I wanted to share that the dealer I worked for wasn't the "stealership" that people were used to. It was a place where we all really cared about customersā cars. A place that always tried to do the right thing. Sure, mistakes were made, things got damaged and broken, but in the end, it was made right.
Now Iām sitting here reflecting on the fact that over 1 million people said, "Hey, I want to see more videos like this." Iām still not sure I can fully wrap my head around it. I still remember the first email I got saying "THANK YOU" from someone who used my widow maker video to change their tire. Funny enough, I shot that with my iPhone 3GS. LOL.
If you know me, you know I donāt get real high on milestones. Iām thankful for them and all, but getting too high on things usually means getting low on things too. Being a flat rate tech taught me you gotta ride the middle. LOL. Celebrate small things like a bolt extraction. HA! Now thatās a high to ride.
But right now, right this minute, Iām pretty hyped. Iām insanely thankful. I really can't put the words together for how much I appreciate each of you. If this is the first post you have ever seen, or you have been around since the MK1 VR6 swap days, THANK YOU! Man, that just doesn't even feel like enough. Just know that I really do appreciate each of you. I hope that this channel has helped you out in some way. I also hope you can pass that help on to someone else.
Sincerely, THANK YOU
Charles

We have been waiting a long time for this.
Youāre looking at a vr6 with a big boy turbo. This will be going in a 2004 r32 6sp manual AWD car.
I started taking this car apart in late 2020, then she spent a lot of time at the body shop. Some good, and some bad, luckily the boys at everything euro saved the day.

This is so awesome! As part of the deal with my Golf R(RsR?) going to āŖ@semashow⬠was a poster collab with āŖ@originalKONI⬠If youāre going to Sema come by the Koni booth Tuesday am and you can score an 11x17 poster limited to 150!
But if you canāt make Sema, we have an 18x24 for sale over at 8380! The 18x24 is so amazing. And if you really want to level up, there is an option for me to sign it. Which Iām incredibly honored by.(sorry no Paul install option. Heās a slacker) there are only 100 of the 18x24 so if you want one, Iād jump on it. Well actually 99 because Iām getting one haha.
This is the first time Iāve done something like this. If it goes well, for sure Iāll do more rad stuff like this š¤š¤š¤

This blows my mind.
Iāve been driving this r32 daily for a few months. And letās be honest by most every measure itās just a dusty mk4. Now donāt get that twisted I love this car. I really do. But at the end itās a 230k 20 year old VW.
But even this one that has no clear coat, dirty, kinda gross wheels, missing badges and all, gets more attention than any car Iāve ever owned. More random š thumbs up, more waves, more āHell yesā from random people in random not vw cars. None of that ever happened in my blue r32, my mk8, my yellow R, the purple R I had for a minute none of them.
Itās so wild to me in the coolest way possible. The r32 is a pretty iconic car far outside of the VW community. And I think thatās pretty damn cool. š

This was one of the wildest collabs Iāve done. I brought the Fahrenheit to Larry at āŖ@AMMO-NYC⬠to see if he could save it. lol you donāt want to miss this one

Well I mostly did what I set out to do. Finish the R for Wookies in the Woods.
The R isn't totally finished. I have some coding/programming things still to work through. But I did drive it, and I did hit Tail of the Dragon a couple times.
IF you have been following, you know my thoughts on air ride. While I dont think I can give full feedback yet, I can say.. I don't hate it. There is some tuning that needs to happen to get it better. Im actually pretty optimistic about that.
Finally on the body kit. I know some of you love it. Some of you hate it. I think thats awesome. The fact that we all like different things is one of the fun things about cars. Doing this body kit was WAY out side my normal OEM+, keep it factory vibe. That was the point.
Thank you all for following the series. And you haven't seen the last of this lil banana LOL
